The highly anticipated LEGO Sagrada Família set, predicted to be the company’s largest model ever with an unprecedented number of pieces, has been pushed back. It was originally expected to be released in early summer 2026, but now won’t be, as LEGO is experiencing some internal delays affecting several projects.
For over a year, LEGO fans have been buzzing about a massive new Architecture set. Recent information from the Brick Tap community points to it being a detailed brick-built model of the Sagrada Família, with the set number 21065. This model is predicted to have a whopping 12,060 pieces, making it LEGO’s biggest set to date – even larger than the 11,695-piece World Map. The initial reports suggest it could be available in stores and online starting July 1, 2026.
Sagrada Família and Several Other LEGO Sets Reportedly Hit by Delays
So, the rumors about the Sagrada Família and the Poké Ball set dropping in July? Yeah, scratch that. I’ve been following the Brick Tap, and they’re saying both sets have been delayed internally. Apparently, there are some production problems causing the hold-up, but they don’t have specifics. Worse, their sources couldn’t give any idea of when we might actually see them, which makes me think this delay could be a pretty long one. Bummer!
Recent issues with LEGO’s supply chain often mean product releases will be delayed by a few months. While LEGO usually manages things very efficiently and delays aren’t common, they do happen, especially with their large, complex sets. Currently, production problems with the 21065 Sagrada Família set suggest it might not be released during the summer 2026 product launch, and could be pushed back further.
As a LEGO fan, I’ve been following the rumors about the Pokémon sets, especially the big Sagrada Família model (21065). It looks like the Poké Ball set (72154) is delayed, and that actually gives us a clue about when the Sagrada Família might come out. Back in March, people were saying the Pokémon set would have the first-ever LEGO Pokémon minifigures and be released in early August 2026. If the delays affecting the Poké Ball set also impact the Sagrada Família, it probably won’t be released until after the original August date. Considering how LEGO usually handles things, I’m guessing we’ll see the Sagrada Família sometime in the last three months of 2026, and November seems like the most likely month!
The iconic Sagrada Família basilica will be the focus of celebrations commemorating the 100th anniversary of architect Antoni Gaudí’s death on June 10, 2026. LEGO likely timed the release of its new set to coincide with the increased publicity surrounding the basilica that summer. The set, featuring over 12,000 pieces, will be a challenging build for adults and demonstrates LEGO’s growing interest in creating larger, detailed models of famous landmarks, following previous sets like Notre-Dame de Paris, Neuschwanstein Castle, and Himeji Castle.
