PlayStation announced it will be holding a State of Play presentation on June 2nd. This event has been the subject of rumors and leaks for weeks, so the official confirmation is welcome news.
PlayStation is clearly aiming for a major event this summer, with its showcase scheduled around the same time as other big gaming announcements. Summer Game Fest is on June 5th, and Xbox’s showcase is June 7th, so many are expecting Nintendo to follow suit with a significant Direct presentation soon.

- Begins at 2 pm PT/5 pm ET
PlayStation’s next State of Play presentation will be live-streamed on Tuesday, June 2nd at 2 PM Pacific Time / 5 PM Eastern Time. It will begin with a fresh look at the upcoming Wolverine game from Insomniac Games. While the full lineup isn’t known yet, the hour-long presentation promises a solid reveal of what’s coming to PS5.

As a huge fan, I was so excited to hear that PlayStation is letting some of us watch the event in person! They’re teaming up with Alamo Drafthouse cinemas in a few major cities across the US to host watch parties. The best part? Tickets are free! But fair warning – they’re going to go fast. If you’re anywhere near Raleigh, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, or New York City, you definitely need to check the Alamo Drafthouse website ASAP to try and snag one.
It’s difficult to predict which other games might be featured. The Saros DLC is a possibility, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet could use an update, so that’s another contender. Phantom Blade Zero also looks promising. While a game like GTA 6 seems unlikely, given Rockstar’s independence, reports suggest a marketing deal with PlayStation, so it’s not entirely out of the question.
PlayStation is clearly focusing on Wolverine, with its release planned for 2026. It makes sense they’d give it a significant amount of presentation time, especially since GTA 6 would likely steal the spotlight if it were also shown.
