Homelander, from The Boys, is arguably the most powerful and dangerous character in the series. He’s incredibly strong, fast, and tough, making him nearly impossible to defeat. It took five seasons for the main characters to find a way to weaken him enough to win. While Homelander is a formidable force at his peak, his arrogance and lack of fighting skill mean he doesn’t quite reach the level of power demonstrated by the strongest heroes in shonen anime.
Homelander is strong, but his power is limited to defeating shonen anime heroes who are generally human. Even then, it would be a difficult fight for him to win. He seems incredibly powerful within the world of The Boys because most characters there are relatively weak. However, when compared to the strongest characters in shonen anime, Homelander wouldn’t stand a chance – he’d lose even more decisively than he did in the final episode of The Boys.
10. Deku is a Better Superhero Than Homelander Ever Was
Deku Would Destroy Homelander
If Homelander from The Boys somehow ended up in the world of My Hero Academia, he’d be in trouble. Most heroes in My Hero Academia are significantly more powerful than the typical superhero from The Boys. The unique abilities called ‘Quirks’ give MHA heroes a wider range of powers and skills than anything Vought International has created.
Homelander would be furious to lose to Deku. Even holding back, Deku would likely win easily – he’s much stronger and a better fighter, despite Homelander’s speed. While Homelander’s lasers are dangerous, a single powerful hit from Deku would be enough to defeat him.
9. Hamon Won’t Save Jonathan Joestar From Homelander
Jonathan Joestar Would Lose to Homelander
I’ve been watching JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood, and it’s interesting to note that Jonathan Joestar, the main character, is one of the few JoJos who actually lost his final fight. He’s incredibly talented with Hamon and really strong, but he has a limit. He can’t consistently keep up with enemies who are far more powerful without completely exhausting himself.
Even if Jonathan Joestar had a Stand ability, his would likely be Hermit Purple, which wouldn’t be effective against Homelander. As demonstrated in Phantom Blood, Jonathan was defeated by Dio Brando’s laser attacks. Homelander is significantly faster and could easily target and strike Jonathan’s neck before he could react. Jonathan’s courage and good fortune wouldn’t be enough to overcome Homelander’s speed and power.
8. Gear 5 Luffy is Making a Mockery of Homelander
Luffy Would Destroy Homelander
Luffy would win against Homelander no matter what, even when he was first starting his adventure. But now that Luffy has Gear 5, the fight wouldn’t even be close. Gear 5’s unpredictable powers would completely overwhelm Homelander, leading to a crushing defeat that would leave him defeated and distraught.
Gear 5 Luffy is already immensely powerful, but he hasn’t fully unlocked everything it’s capable of. Even so, Homelander wouldn’t be able to push Luffy to his true limits. In a straight fight, Luffy would likely defeat Homelander very quickly and decisively – he could easily overwhelm him if he wanted to.
7. Homelander Could Stop Eren & The Rumbling
Eren Would Lose to Homelander
The Rumbling was a catastrophic event in Attack on Titan, with Eren destroying most of the world’s population. While Homelander isn’t known for being a hero, he easily could have stopped the devastation with few losses. His incredible strength, speed, laser vision, and flight would make him a powerful opponent to any Titan.
In a fight, Eren wouldn’t stand a chance against Homelander. Homelander would defeat him quickly. More concerningly, Homelander might even support the Rumbling. At worst, he’d allow the Rumbling to happen and then kill Eren afterward.
6. Saitama is Taking Homelander Out With One Punch
Saitama Would Destroy Homelander
Saitama, the main character in One-Punch Man, is known for defeating any enemy with a single punch. Because of how his character is written, Homelander simply doesn’t stand a chance against him. Saitama is intentionally designed to be unbeatable; his entire role depends on him always winning, even against the most powerful foes in his universe.
Homelander would be completely overwhelmed by Saitama’s power. None of his attacks would even hurt Saitama, and he’d likely just end up irritating him. Being annoyed by Saitama would be as bad as getting one-punched, and it would likely destroy Homelander. While Saitama usually avoids killing people, he might make an exception in Homelander’s case.
5. Baki Hanma is Strong, But Still Just a Human
Baki Would Lose to Homelander
While Homelander would likely win against Yujiro, Baki Hanma is a different story. Known as the “Strongest Boy on Earth,” Baki is incredibly powerful and capable of amazing feats. He’s one of the most formidable fighters in his world and would pose a serious challenge to Homelander, giving him a truly tough battle.
Okay, so as much as I love Baki and his incredible strength, I really think Homelander would ultimately win. Baki could definitely land a hit and seriously mess up Homelander’s day – I can picture the look on his face! But once Homelander takes to the skies, it’s a whole different ball game. Baki just wouldn’t be able to reach him, and those laser beams? They’d be devastating. Honestly, if Homelander really wanted to, he could just take Baki into space and… well, that wouldn’t be good for Baki at all.
4. Homelander Can’t Even Touch Sung Jinwoo
Sung Jinwoo Would Destroy Homelander
Considering his powers, Homelander would be considered an A-Rank in the world of Solo Leveling, which would likely be a blow to his ego. Any S-Rank hunter could easily defeat him, and Sung Jinwoo in particular wouldn’t even need his Shadow Army – he could take Homelander down in seconds.
Homelander wouldn’t stand a chance against Sung Jinwoo. Even if Sung Jinwoo didn’t use his full power, he could easily defeat Homelander, and flying wouldn’t help him. In fact, Homelander wouldn’t even get to fight Sung Jinwoo in the world of Solo Leveling. Any of the top-level hunters could take him down immediately.
3. Mr. Satan Would Be Terrified of Homelander
Mr. Satan Would Lose to Homelander
Mr. Satan, from Dragon Ball, is the strongest fighter who doesn’t rely on energy blasts (Ki). While he’s much weaker than the main heroes, he’s incredibly strong for a normal person. However, he wouldn’t stand a chance against Homelander, who can fly and shoot lasers – making him a serious danger to Mr. Satan.
Homelander would absolutely terrify Satan, who would probably try to reason with him. At best, Homelander would keep Satan around as a servant. At worst, he’d kill him instantly. However, if Homelander ever harmed Hercule, Majin Buu would immediately turn him into chocolate and devour him.

2. Goku Doesn’t Even Need to Transform to Kill Homelander
Goku Would Destroy Homelander
Even as a child, Goku could easily defeat Homelander. In fact, any character from Dragon Ball who can harness Ki energy could defeat him without much difficulty. As an adult, Goku wouldn’t even need to use his Super Saiyan transformation; a single touch would be enough to take Homelander down.
If Goku fought Homelander at his full strength, it wouldn’t be a contest. Homelander simply couldn’t win. Even a single punch from Homelander would likely shatter his hand upon impact with Goku’s chest, reducing his fingers to dust. Goku’s positive demeanor would only frustrate Homelander as he understood just how much stronger Goku is.
1. Tanjiro Can’t Cut Through Homelander
Tanjiro Would Lose to Homelander
Tanjiro is a skilled demon slayer with impressive swordsmanship, but his sword wouldn’t even make a scratch on Homelander. Homelander is so powerful he’d likely break Tanjiro’s blade easily, leaving Tanjiro defenseless.
Homelander is nearly impossible to harm with any weapon, meaning Tanjiro and the Hashira wouldn’t be able to damage him. He’s significantly stronger, quicker, and more durable than Tanjiro. Even if Tanjiro could injure Homelander, it would only speed up his own defeat. A single blast from Homelander’s lasers would instantly defeat Tanjiro, ending the fight immediately.
