Reports suggest that Sony is working on a portable edition of the upcoming PlayStation 6 (PS6). However, it seems unlikely to offer the full “next-generation” gaming experience for users.
As per user KeplerL2 on NeoGaf, who previously speculated that Sony is developing two System-on-Chips (SoCs) for the PS6, suggests that the portable variant of the next-gen PlayStation 5 (PS5) may not match its current-generation counterpart in terms of power. In response to a query about the handheld device, Kepler hinted that it could feature a 15-watt SoC built on a 3nm process.

Knowing that the processor’s thermal design power (TDP) is 15w offers some insight into what we might anticipate for the final version of the device, though it may not necessarily be exactly 15w. For instance, the Steam Deck has a TDP of 15w, but can be adjusted to conserve battery life. In contrast, the PS5 has a much higher TDP of 200W.
