Summary
- Former Twitch employee manipulated women using his position to fake relationships.
- Said employee acted as a mod for Pokimane and took advantage of female viewers.
- Pokimane collaborated with Twitch to investigate and warned Riot Games after the employee moved there.
In a recent podcast, Pokimane revealed that an individual who was once employed by Twitch exploited their position and falsely portrayed a romantic relationship with the well-known streamer. Previous discussions about this person did not disclose that they were previously associated with Twitch.
Streaming on Twitch can be financially rewarding, particularly for well-known streamers, but it also brings potential drawbacks. Recently, streamers have encountered incidents such as receiving threats during live streams or even facing harassment at home, an issue Amouranth spoke about in early 2025. Sadly, it appears Pokimane was dealing with someone exploiting their position instead of working to prevent such behavior.
In the April 19 edition of the Sweet n Sour podcast, Pokimane spoke about a former Twitch staff member who exploited his position to deceive women. As per Pokimane, this unidentified Twitch employee didn’t just work for the company; he also served as a moderator for her at one point. However, she only became aware of his misconduct in 2023 when it was discovered that he had been cultivating friendships with female viewers, falsely claiming to be romantically involved with Pokimane and accusing her of abuse. What made this especially troubling is that this employee worked in Twitch’s safety department and even contributed to the development of the Twitch automod.

Twitch Employee Used His Position to Gain Attention
Pokimane disclosed additional details, stating that once he gained the empathy of female viewers, he would attempt to enter into relationships with them and even went as far as trying to obtain inappropriate photos from them. Furthermore, she alleges that he distributed a portion of his Twitch earnings to these women.
Initially, Pokimane chose not to comment on the accusations while she was cooperating with Twitch in a confidential investigation into the employee’s conduct. Later, the employee decided to depart from Twitch and join Riot Games. Since then, Pokimane has contacted both the affected women and Riot Games to alert them about this situation.
From a passionate filmgoer’s perspective, the details surrounding the fate of the employee after departing Riot remain unclear to me. Pokimane has expressed that she had limited options legally to address the predicament, which might have led Riot to view the situation as rumor or hearsay, despite its origin from a well-known streamer’s circle. Regrettably, this isn’t an isolated case of individuals in power exploiting the audience of Twitch streamers, and sadly, it seems likely that such incidents will persist in the future.
