All Poppit Locations & Rewards in Mina the Hollower

Mina the Hollower is a game all about exploring and discovering secrets. Its dark, gothic world is full of hidden areas, tricky illusions, strange characters, and powerful weapons. You never know what you’ll find – even a seemingly ordinary shopkeeper might hold a surprising secret.

A great example of this is Poppit! If you’ve been playing Yacht Club Games’ newest game for a while, you’ve likely already found his cave – or one of the many he has hidden!

Poppit looks like any other traveling merchant, typically offering only a Trinket and a Kear for sale. But he hides a huge secret – one he claims is awful.

Okay, so I’m totally obsessed with finding everything in Mina the Hollower, and I stumbled upon this really cool merchant named Poppit. He’s a bit of a secret – you can find him in hidden caves across three different areas, and each cave has these distinctive purple decorations that hint he’s nearby. Here’s the thing: if you visit all his shops and buy everything he has, you unlock one of the coolest, most mysterious things in the whole game! I wanted to share a guide to help you find every single Poppit location and get all the awesome rewards at the end of his quest. Let’s get started!

Poppit Location 1: Eastern Heath

You can find Poppit’s first shop hidden in the grassy Eastern Heath. To get there from Ossex, head through the eastern gate and cross the main bridge. If the bridge is still locked, you’ll need to take the lower path. This involves solving some platforming puzzles and defeating enemies to activate a switch that opens the way.

Okay, so once you get across that first gap, you’ll see the path split – go up and to the right, being careful to dodge those swinging spikes. Then, take a right and head straight down. This next area is packed with more of those moving spikes, so the key is to stick to the right wall and make your way all the way to the bottom. It’s tricky, but totally doable if you stay focused!

Look for a small, hidden crack at the lowest part of the level. Use your burrowing skill to go underground and squeeze through it. You’ll find Poppit’s shop inside! Talk to him and buy everything he has – just a Trinket and a Key – for around 600 Bones.

Poppit Location 2: Western Wilds

You can find the second Poppit shop deep within the Western Wilds, tucked away in a quiet cabin at the region’s edge. It’s conveniently located close to the shortcut that leads back to Ossex.

Okay, so to get to this area, you leave the main town through the south gate and immediately take a hard left. From there, you follow the path that winds upwards – it’s a pretty rough volcanic zone, packed with minotaurs and these gross red slimes. Watch out for the lava puzzles too, they’re seriously irritating! Just keep heading up and forward, and you’ll eventually find a cabin called the Molten Foundry. That’s where you need to go!

As soon as you enter the foundry, you’ll see a ladder over a floor filled with bubbling lava. Pay close attention to the walls on either side – they conceal secret passages! To get through this area, use your burrowing skill to dig through the floor. Direct a stream of lava from a nearby barrel to the left, which will light up a hidden hole at the base of the wall, revealing your path.

Things move quickly here! You need to redirect the lava flow while also making sure Mina doesn’t fall into the pit in front of her. The key is to pay attention to the sound of Mina digging and release the action button the instant she breaks through the wall. After she’s safe, quickly dig new paths to destroy the red blocks above, revealing a hidden chamber where Poppit is waiting. Talk to him and buy his items – another Trinket and Key – just like you did before.

Poppit Location 3: Southern Outskirts

Okay, so I finally found the last Poppit shop! It’s way back in the Southern Outskirts, hidden inside the Forgotten Cave. Honestly, it’s super hard to miss because it’s right on the path you have to take to get to Bone Beach. You literally walk right past it just by playing the story, which is kinda nice – no more crazy searching!

To find it, go back to the very beginning of the game – the tutorial area in the Southern Outskirts, where you see lots of strange bats. Head east into the part of the map that was blocked by wildfires. You’ll easily notice a bright purple flower that lets you jump much higher. You’ll be seeing a lot more of these flowers, so get ready to use them!

Go through the cave entrance on the right. Inside, use the purple flowers to launch Mina over the gaps until you reach the exit on the right. Once you’re out, continue forward on the new path to unlock two shortcuts: the upper dam floodgate and the lower rope. Then, use another purple flower to launch yourself up to the highest platform at the bottom of the screen. Be prepared to fight two red crows and a large, powerful enemy!

Return to the arena where you fought the giant. Look down from the edge – you’ll find a hidden opening marked with purple decorations. Drop down into it to discover Poppit’s last shop. As before, talk to him and buy everything he has. This time, his items will cost a total of 8,000 Bones.

The Rewards for Finding All Poppit Shops

After you’ve found all three shops and bought everything they have, Poppit’s conversation will become strange. He’ll suddenly “invite” you to his real hideout, but it won’t feel like a friendly invitation – more like Mina is being forced to go.

Right then, the traveling merchant throws off his disguise, and we finally see who he really is: Grinnsly. He’s a strange, completely black creature with a terrifying, wide-eyed grin – even more unsettling than Flowey from Undertale.

The more I talked to Grinnsly, the weirder things got. He finally confessed he has this really strange hobby – making incredibly detailed puppets. And get this – he revealed that all those Poppits I ran into around Ossex weren’t actually alive, they were just his puppets, controlled like marionettes!

He then makes a disturbing proposal to Mina, asking if she wants to join his collection of controlled ‘puppets.’ If you respond with ‘I don’t know,’ something surprisingly funny and creepy will happen – it’s worth trying!

After you finish the final scene (we won’t spoil it!), you’ll receive a special reward for discovering Grinnsly’s secret: the Disturbing Dance Trinket. This charm lets you make Mina dance whenever you want with a single button, and you can even change up her dance moves as you play. Congratulations, you’ve unlocked the best secret dance in Ossex!
