As one of the most skilled trainers in the series, Ash helped his Pokémon become strong and formidable fighters. However, Ash wasn’t just talented – he also had the good fortune of frequently finding Pokémon with exceptional natural power.

Throughout the story, the main character’s monsters sometimes showed incredible strength and toughness, comparable to the most powerful Pokémon. Ash frequently encountered creatures with secret, special abilities that made them far stronger than others of their kind. 10. Gible

Most Pokémon fans know that Pokémon in their first stage are usually much weaker than their fully evolved forms—even those that eventually become incredibly powerful like Garchomp. One of Krookodile’s most impressive moments is its battle against Brycen, a top trainer in Unova who uses powerful Ice-Type Pokémon – Pokémon that should be especially effective against it. Despite taking multiple super-effective hits, Krookodile managed to defeat several of Brycen’s strongest Pokémon. The fact that it could endure constant Ice-Type attacks, when even one should have been enough to defeat it, makes Krookodile a truly exceptional Pokémon.

I’ve always been a huge fan of the original 151 Pokémon, and Charizard is definitely up there as one of the most popular – and for good reason! He’s been a friend of Ash’s since the very beginning, and his story is just amazing. I remember watching the Indigo League – so many consider it the best season ever – and Charizard was such a rebel! He wouldn’t listen to Ash at all! It took a lot of work and a special trip to Charicific Valley, but eventually, he became this incredibly powerful and dependable partner. It’s a really inspiring story of friendship and overcoming challenges.

Charizard was already a powerful Fire-type Pokémon, but its real strength came from its incredible physical power. Intense training allowed it to compete with, and even defeat, much stronger opponents. It famously won against both Gary’s Blastoise and Nolan’s Articuno using its powerful Seismic Toss. This explains why Charizard is consistently one of Ash’s most successful Pokémon in battle.

5. Lucario

Lucario has been a fan favorite Pokémon for over ten years, ever since it first appeared in the Diamond and Pearl games. Its popularity is understandable – it has a fantastic design and is a powerful ally in battle. When Ash caught a Riolu that could sense his strong Aura, many fans predicted it would quickly become one of his strongest Pokémon.

I was so thrilled to see Lucario become such a key member of Ash’s team during the Diamond & Pearl series! It really showed what strategy and speed could accomplish.

Throughout Ash’s adventures, he’s caught many Water-Type Pokémon, but Greninja stands out as the strongest and most unforgettable. It started as a courageous but new Froakie, joining Ash early in his journey through the Kalos region. Greninja worked incredibly hard to become a dependable partner for Ash, and it definitely succeeded.

This Pokémon didn’t just become a powerful and quick fighter, using its incredible speed and attacks to win battles—it also pioneered a unique transformation. Its close connection with Ash led to the creation of Ash Greninja, a fan-favorite and one of the strongest Pokémon in the series. This transformation allowed it to rival even the most legendary Pokémon, despite the story ultimately leading to its defeat in the final battle of the X and Y storyline.
