Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced Real-Life Treasure Hunt Has Prize Worth $500,000

To promote the new Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced game, the French company Unsolved Hunts is launching a huge treasure hunt with a $500,000 prize. The hunt will take place over two to five years, challenging participants to solve riddles that will guide them to a hidden location somewhere in the Caribbean.

Unsolved Hunts is launching a real-life treasure hunt based on Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag on November 9th. To join, players need to purchase a hunt pack. The game involves solving 15 riddles, each revealing a clue to the location of a hidden treasure chest somewhere in the Caribbean. The grand prize is a treasure chest filled with gold coins and a crystal skull with an opal, valued at over $500,000.

Unsolved Hunts offers treasure packs in two versions. You can get a digital pack for €34.99, or a physical pack for €199.99. The physical pack includes a notebook, a strategy game for 2-4 players, an investigation game that takes 6-8 hours to complete, a Kenway flag, a special coin, and a calligraphy set with wax and a seal.

If you pre-order the game pack, you’ll instantly receive a digital prologue mission that should take about 10 hours to finish. This prologue is designed to give you a feel for the kind of puzzle-solving you’ll encounter in the full game. The creators at Unsolved Hunts think the main treasure hunt is incredibly complex and could take players anywhere from two to five years to solve.
