Rebellion Developments unveiled details about the upcoming story expansion for Atomfall in Wicked Isle, which fans won’t have much longer to explore. In a fresh gameplay summary, the developers give us a glimpse into what lies ahead at the new location and the dangers that lurk therein.
As a gamer, I set sail from Windham Village on Midsummer Isle, which lies secluded amidst the quarantine zone. Despite its isolation, this place offers tantalizing clues that lead back to the mainland and unlock hidden endings. I soon find myself exploring a deserted fishing hamlet, but the real adventure begins when I delve into the heart of the dense forest and unearth the crumbling ruins of an ancient abbey – home to the enigmatic Monk’s Grove hidden within its walls.
Common threats include Lake Bandits and Druids, but watch out for the emerging aquatic beings resembling Mermen, called Ferals. Luckily, fresh weapons are at hand. The Blunderbuss shotgun doubles as a flame thrower against enemies and can fire two shells simultaneously, while the tainted dagger inflicts greater damage on contaminated adversaries. Moreover, you can coat your arrows with poison for added danger.
In addition to the launch, there are four fresh abilities, such as the ability to dismantle bodies covertly following a stealthy ambush, featured in Atomfall: Wicked Isle.
