I love shooters that just let you play. You know, the kind that don’t make you spend forever learning complicated stuff before you even get a gun in your hands. These games throw you right into the action – you’re moving, you’re shooting, and the levels are smartly designed to make it all feel great. If you want a shooter that’s fast-paced but doesn’t feel like it’s going to take a lifetime to finish, these are seriously the best options out there.

As a huge D&D fan, I’ve been following Avantris Entertainment for a while now. They actually started as an actual play group – you might have heard of Legends of Avantris. While they haven’t reached the same level of fame as Critical Role, they’ve built a really dedicated fanbase over nine full campaigns. But they’re not just content creators! They recently released The Crooked Moon, a seriously impressive 632-page book packed with options for players and tools for DMs, and it’s all centered around a really cool folk-horror theme.

For years, the Resident Evil series has included extra gameplay modes and stories, such as the popular The Mercenaries, where players battle waves of enemies against the clock using different characters. There have also been downloadable story expansions, like ‘Not a Hero’ in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Now that Resident Evil Requiem has been out for a few months, it’s starting to get its own additional side missions.

Released in late April 2026, Neverness to Everness is a new open-world gacha game from Hotta Studio, the creators of Tower of Fantasy. Players can explore a vibrant, supernatural 3D world and participate in various quests and activities. While the game offers a lot to do, some players have expressed disappointment with the multiplayer features, which didn’t quite live up to pre-release expectations.

Great co-op in open-world games requires a good balance so all players feel rewarded. Games like Saints Row: The Third and Elden Ring achieve this. We’ll be ranking them based on both the core game itself and how well co-op is integrated.
