Boruto’s New Team 7 Has Surpassed Konoha’s Legendary Sannin: Here’s How

The world Masashi Kishimoto built for Naruto and Boruto is widely considered one of the most exciting and immersive universes in anime. A big part of what makes it so compelling is its rich history and the many stories that bring the five nations to life. One particularly popular tale, captivating fans for over twenty years, is the legend of the Three Sannin – the first warriors to survive a battle against the formidable Hanzo of the Salamander.

Their accomplishments earned the respect and admiration of ninjas worldwide, many of whom aspired to reach their level. While most fighters never quite reach that peak, a select few have surpassed even the legendary Sannin. Boruto and his team, Team 7, are definitely among those who have, objectively demonstrating abilities and achievements that now exceed those of the three ninjas once considered Konoha’s strongest.

The New Team 7 Is Far More Powerful Than The Sannin Ever Were

Team 7 first appeared in the original Naruto series and quickly became a beloved part of the Shonen anime world. They were one of the strongest and most important teams in the entire franchise, and their stories moved the plot forward. Because fans loved them so much, when Boruto began, many wondered if the new generation of characters could live up to the legacy of the original Team 7.

Whether or not people enjoy the Boruto series is still debated, but it’s become clear that Boruto and his teammates deserve their place as Team 7. The biggest reason is how much stronger they’ve become. By chapter 34 of the Two Blue Vortex manga, it’s evident that this new generation has exceeded the power of many legendary Konoha ninjas, including the famed Sannin – Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru. Considering what they’ve accomplished, this Team 7 is clearly more powerful than previous generations, especially at their age.

The Third Hokage trained some incredibly gifted young ninja, but they didn’t become legends until much later in their careers. In contrast, Boruto and his team have been dealing with extremely dangerous enemies right from the start, challenges that would be difficult even for the most powerful characters in the series. While some longtime fans might find it hard to believe, the new generation of Konoha ninja, including Team 7, are now demonstrably more powerful than their predecessors.

Boruto Is the Clear Powerhouse of Team 7

Watching Team 7 grow up has been amazing – they’re all incredibly talented. But it’s become clear that Boruto Uzumaki has really pulled ahead. Everyone always knew he was a prodigy and destined for great things as a ninja in Konoha. However, he seems to be on a path to something even bigger. Especially after his battle with Momoshiki, one of the most powerful members of the Otsutsuki clan, it’s become obvious that Boruto is growing into the one who will ultimately save the world.

In the first part of the Naruto manga series, Naruto’s son, Boruto, showed incredible strength, largely thanks to a special mark called Karma given to him by Momoshiki. Before his exile from Konoha, his power came from the alien DNA he inherited. However, after a time skip and his return, fans realized his strength stemmed from his own hard work and natural talent. He came back with a whole arsenal of new abilities and used his training to overcome some of the series’ toughest enemies, including the clones of the God Tree.

Boruto’s fights and abilities have clearly surpassed those of the legendary Sannin when they faced Hanzo. He’s been able to win or hold his own without tiring easily, showing he’s stronger than most ninjas, even the famous ones. But the manga suggests Boruto isn’t the only one on Team 7 who’s become incredibly powerful – others may have already exceeded the skills of even Sarutobi’s best students.

Sarada and Mitsuki are Far Stronger Than The Sannin at Their Age

While Boruto has clearly become incredibly powerful, his teammates aren’t portrayed as weak. Considering their accomplishments and skills, it’s likely they’ve surpassed the legendary Sannin in terms of strength at a similar age. This is evident from the challenging battles they’ve fought and the powerful enemies they’ve overcome.

Sarada, the daughter of two legendary ninja heroes, has proven herself a formidable fighter, even against strong opponents like Hidari and Mamushi. Her special Mangekyo Sharingan ability, called Orihume, allows her to create black holes that can obliterate anything nearby. While she doesn’t have the same level of battle experience as veteran ninja such as Tsunade or Jiraiya, Sarada is undoubtedly one of the most talented Genin the ninja world has ever known.

While Mitsuki might be the least experienced member of the new Team 7, he’s already far stronger than the legendary Sannin were when they were starting out. He’s remarkably skilled in Sage Mode for his age, and a generally capable fighter. His biggest weakness is simply his lack of experience compared to the Sannin in their prime, but as a Genin, he has plenty of time to improve. It’s likely he’ll eventually become even more powerful than his father, Orochimaru.
