A fan of the Legend of Zelda series has built an amazing LEGO version of the Hylian Shield, a well-known item from the games. This iconic shield has been featured in almost every Legend of Zelda title since it first appeared in Ocarina of Time.
For over 40 years, The Legend of Zelda series has given us some of gaming’s most memorable characters, items, and places. Characters like Link, Princess Zelda, and Ganondorf have appeared in many Zelda games, and each new game often introduces beloved characters like Midna, Tetra, and Skull Kid. The series is also known for its iconic weapons and items, such as the Master Sword, the Hylian Shield, and the Hookshot. Recently, a fan created an impressive, life-sized LEGO version of the Hylian Shield.

A dedicated Zelda fan recently posted a video showcasing an impressive recreation of the Hylian Shield. The video details the entire building process, starting with a base made of colorful blocks and then carefully crafting the shield’s exterior. The large shield is modeled after the more recent designs from games like Skyward Sword, featuring the streamlined trim on top of the blue base. The video ends with a complete view of the shield, displaying its flawless front and the construction details on the back.

The LEGO Hylian Shield received a lot of positive attention from fans, though some pointed out a small mistake in the original post. The account that shared the video called it the “Hero Shield,” and many fans clarified that the Hero’s Shield is actually a different shield that has appeared in various forms throughout the Zelda series. For example, a shield inspired by the Hylian Shield appeared in Majora’s Mask, and the wooden shield from the beginning of Wind Waker is also a version of it. Some fans playfully commented that the LEGO shield, like the one in Breath of the Wild, might break easily after taking damage.
The popular Zelda video game series joined forces with LEGO, resulting in official LEGO sets. The first set, released in September 2024, was based on the iconic Great Deku Tree.
