New Switch Games Released in March 2026
March was packed with heavy hitters as the Switch 2 found its stride with several major releases.
Pokémon Pokopia — March 5 (Switch 2)
Pokémon Pokopia is the first brand-new Pokémon game designed specifically for the Switch 2. It combines the classic Pokémon collecting gameplay with relaxing life-simulation elements. Players take on the role of a Ditto, gathering resources, crafting furniture, and building homes for the Pokémon they encounter. This fresh approach has been enthusiastically received by both fans and reviewers.
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake — March 12 (Switch 2)
As a huge fan of classic survival horror, I was so excited to see this game get a complete remake! They’ve totally revamped the Camera Obscura system to really show off what the Switch 2 can do, and honestly, it’s terrifying – but in the best way. It feels like a faithful update to the original, but with a fresh, modern feel. If you’ve never played before, this is the perfect way to jump in!
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection — March 13 (Switch 2)
The popular RPG spin-off, Monster Hunter Stories, is back with a fresh story and improved battles. Monster Hunter Stories 3 still lets you collect and ride monsters (called Monsties) in turn-based combat, but now features even more creatures to ride and new puzzles to solve while exploring the world. Expect a lengthy adventure – you’ll likely spend over 40 hours playing!
WWE 2K26 — March 13 (Switch 2)
The latest wrestling game is now available on the Switch 2, featuring updated player lists, smoother animations, and online play that actually works well. It’s a big step up from past wrestling games on handheld devices, and the new Switch 2 hardware keeps the action running smoothly without the frustrating slowdowns seen in earlier versions on the original Switch.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Switch 2 Edition — March 26 (Switch 2)
The popular 2D platformer is now available on Switch 2, featuring Bellabel Park – a new mode where you can play with or against friends and family. If you’ve already enjoyed the game, the new content makes it worth playing again. If you’re new to the game, this version is the best one to get.
New Switch Games: April 2026
As a Nintendo fan, I’m really excited about the games coming out in April! It’s cool that they’re releasing stuff for both my current Switch and the new Switch 2 – there’s something for everyone, it seems!
Pokémon Champions — April 8 (Switch)
Pokémon Champions focuses entirely on player-versus-player battles. Unlike other Pokémon games, there’s no story or world to explore – it’s all about building a strong team, climbing the ranked ladder, and competing in tournaments. While it’s geared towards dedicated competitive players, it provides a focused platform for serious Pokémon battles on the Switch.
Goat Simulator 3 — Available Now (Switch 2)
The hilariously chaotic goat simulator is now available on Switch 2, and it’s just as delightfully unpredictable as ever. You still play as a goat whose main goal is to cause trouble, but this version runs great and lets you play with a friend locally, making it perfect for game nights.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream — April 16 (Switch)
The popular life simulation game is back after more than ten years! Design your own characters, help them find homes on a tropical island, and enjoy watching their funny and unpredictable lives. This new version, called Living the Dream, adds even more things to do, deeper relationships, and ways to share your islanders’ experiences with friends. It’s a uniquely charming Nintendo game that’s incredibly addictive.
Mouse: P.I. For Hire — April 16 (Switch 2)
This game is a fast-paced shooter with a unique and beautiful look inspired by 1930s cartoons. You take on the role of a detective mouse, investigating mysteries and battling enemies brought to life with a classic, hand-drawn animation style. Even if you don’t play, it’s visually stunning, and initial reports indicate the gameplay is just as good.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition — April 16 (Switch 2)
Xenoblade Chronicles X, a sprawling open-world RPG originally for Wii U, is now available to more players. You’re stranded on a huge alien planet, Mira, and can explore it by foot or in powerful mechs called Skells. This new ‘Definitive Edition’ includes updated graphics, helpful improvements, and extra story content. It’s the biggest RPG release of the month, and you can expect to spend many hours discovering everything Planet Mira has to offer.
OPUS: Prism Peak — April 16 (Switch 2)
OPUS: Prism Peak is a peaceful adventure game where you manage a photography lodge in the mountains. You’ll hike, take pictures of animals, and uncover a heartwarming story about memories and relationships. It’s a slower-paced game perfect for players who enjoy thoughtful experiences over fast action.
Pragmata — April 17 (Switch 2)
Capcom has announced the release date for Pragmata, their brand new game! It tells the story of an astronaut lost in a world falling apart, and their journey with an android partner. The game combines exciting action with brain-teasing puzzles and hacking challenges. Capcom hasn’t revealed much about Pragmata yet, making it one of the most anticipated games coming to the new Switch 2 console.
Outbound — April 23 (Switch 2, Switch)
Imagine building a home inside a vehicle and then driving off to explore! Outbound is a cooperative game for up to four players where you can do just that. It combines the fun of building and customizing your mobile base with the freedom of an open-world driving adventure. If you’ve been looking for a detailed and engaging camper van experience with real gameplay, Outbound delivers.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction — April 28 (Switch)
This action game lets you play through levels from a side view, staying true to the original series. It’s a classic ‘beat-’em-up’ – not overly complex, but fans of He-Man will love how the characters look and how the game feels like the shows they remember.
Amnesia: Rebirth — April 30 (Switch 2)
The popular horror game, Rebirth, from Frictional Games is now available on the Switch 2. Unlike its predecessor, which took place in a creepy castle, Rebirth is set in the harsh Algerian desert, featuring ancient ruins and strange, otherworldly locations. While the story is more central to this installment, it’s still incredibly effective at building suspense and making players anxious about what lies ahead.
inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories — April 30 (Switch 2, Switch)
Run your own Japanese convenience store in this charming game where you also experience the lives of your customers. Your decisions affect their stories in surprising ways, blending relaxing shopkeeping with heartfelt drama. It’s a cozy and engaging look at everyday life.
Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games: May 2026
May ramps up the pace with several marquee releases.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle — May 12 (Switch 2)
The classic Indiana Jones adventure is coming to the new Switch 2! ‘Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,’ developed by MachineGames, takes place between the events of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ and ‘The Last Crusade.’ Players will explore exotic locations, solve challenging puzzles, and engage in thrilling hand-to-hand combat – all while experiencing the iconic feel of the Indiana Jones universe. It’s easily one of the most awaited games for the Switch 2 this year.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book — May 21 (Switch 2)
Yoshi’s new game is Nintendo’s big exclusive release this spring. It throws Yoshi into a storybook world where each level is designed with a unique art style. The game builds on the series’ creative level design, and it looks like a must-play for fans of platforming games.
Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition — May 22 (Switch 2)
Bandai Namco’s popular action RPG, Tales of Arise, is now available with all previously released downloadable content. The game is known for its exciting, quick battles, memorable characters, and a story that deals with more mature and complex topics than past games in the series. The ‘Beyond the Dawn’ expansion adds a significant new chapter to enjoy after completing the main story.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP — May 28 (Switch 2)
The beloved original is back! Juliet Starling is still battling zombies in her signature cheerleader outfit – it’s over-the-top, knowingly silly, and a blast to play. RePOP improves the fighting and graphics while perfectly preserving the game’s low-budget, fun spirit.
Little Nightmares II: Enhanced Edition — May 29 (Switch 2)
Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II, the spooky and atmospheric platformer games, are getting a revamped release on the new Switch 2. This version will run better and look sharper than before. If you haven’t played the unsettling story of Six and Mono in the Pale City, this is the perfect way to enjoy it on a Nintendo console.
Upcoming Switch Games: June 2026 and Beyond
This summer and fall will see the release of two highly anticipated games, and even more exciting announcements are expected before the end of the year.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth — June 3 (Switch 2)
The highly anticipated second chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake series is coming to the new Switch 2 console.
