As a horror fan, when I think of the coolest crossovers, Dead by Daylight is always the first thing that pops into my head! It’s amazing how many different horror franchises come together in one game. Seriously, no matter what kind of horror you’re into, you’ll probably find something—or someone—you love represented there, which is just really cool.
However, the character and IP roster still isn’t complete, particularly for the Killers.
Dead by Daylight has a ton of potential Killers that fans would love to see added to the game, but they remain missing. Players are curious about who these characters are and how they might eventually be included, particularly those with a deep passion for horror who are eager to see their favorite icons join the roster.
As a huge Dead by Daylight fan, I’m always seeing requests for certain Killers, and honestly, I really hope the developers eventually add them to the game. It would be amazing to see them become permanent parts of the roster, right up there with the other iconic characters!
10. Classic Monsters
How About a Werewolf or Mummy?

The game features many unique characters designed to fit specific roles, but it’s surprising to find some classic monsters missing. Despite being widely recognized figures, creatures like werewolves, mummies, and even Frankenstein’s monster don’t appear at all.
Because these monsters are so famous and have a lot of established history, designers have a lot of freedom when creating their appearances and unique abilities. They can really take any approach they want with these classic characters.
Okay, if I had to choose just one monster for a game, I’d probably go with either a werewolf if we’re leaning into something really scary and beastly, or Frankenstein’s monster if we want a character people already know and love. The best part is, both of those are public domain, so we don’t have to deal with any messy copyright issues – unlike some other characters out there!
It’s simply a surprise they aren’t in the game already, but that can easily change.
9. Pennywise
Spot the Red Balloon
Seeing the Red Balloon is a sure sign of danger – it means Pennywise, the terrifying clown from Stephen King’s IT, is nearby. Having a map of Derry included with Pennywise as a playable character would be a great addition to the game, giving players a new location to try and survive in.
Pennywise’s famous red balloon could lure survivors, and his powers as a monster – like disguising himself, changing shape, and creating illusions – could be the basis for his special abilities in the game. Without a group of kids and a magical turtle to help them, survivors will face a truly difficult challenge, as you’d expect from a Stephen King story.
Given the recent success of IT: Welcome to Derry, and with a new season on the way, a collaboration would be a great fit.
But once the Survivors know how to do the Ritual of Chüd, it’s a wrap for Pennywise.
8. Kayako Saeki
Japanese Horror Remains Iconic
Most Western viewers are familiar with Japanese horror through popular films like Ringu (The Ring) and Ju-On (The Grudge). While the character Sadako from Ringu has appeared in the game Dead by Daylight, Kayako Saeki from Ju-On hasn’t received the same attention or inclusion.
A silly crossover movie already exists featuring the ghosts of Sadako and Kayako, which makes adding them to Dead by Daylight a natural fit.
One of the biggest challenges will be making Kayako feel unique as a ghost compared to Sadako, given their similar appearances and behaviors. However, Kayako has an advantage: her son, Toshio, could be incorporated into a special ability, something Sadako doesn’t have as she operates alone.
Honestly, the character roster already has a lot of overlap, so adding Kayako wouldn’t feel all that unique. It’s not like she’d really stand out from what we’ve already got.
7. The Scissorman
How Big Can the Scissors Get?
Before popular horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, Clock Tower was a groundbreaking title in the genre. This point-and-click adventure focused on survival, forcing you to run and hide from a terrifying villain known as The Scissorman, who relentlessly pursues you with a pair of oversized hedge trimmers.
While it’s a bit of a hidden gem – a ‘cult classic’ horror game – including The Scissorman is similar to featuring a well-known character like Ash Williams from Evil Dead (which are cult classic movies too). Horror games often have dedicated, smaller fanbases, so bringing back a game that people loved decades ago, and also attracting new players, is a great opportunity.
The Scissorman’s special ability would naturally focus on his scissors, and it’s important that ability feels significant, not just a small bonus. Also, a map based on the clock tower setting would be a really cool and unique addition to the game.
We’re hoping a partnership with Dead by Daylight could revitalize the series and bring it back into the spotlight, ideally with a complete 3D remake.
6. Clickers
Or Other Types of Infected
Everyone loves the characters from The Last of Us, and it would be great to see them become playable Survivors. But on the Killer side, the terrifying Clickers would be a fantastic addition to the game. While the Fireflies could also work, Clickers are just more focused on eliminating threats, just like in both the game and the HBO series.
For the Clicker character, a simple and effective special ability would be the power to see through walls, building on their natural echolocation. The main difficulty would be preventing the player from having normal vision alongside this ability.
The goal is to give players a similarly unique and terrifying experience as they had with The Last of Us – where even a quiet clicking sound could be incredibly frightening. That’s the kind of impact the best Killers in Dead by Daylight have on players.
5. Carrie White
Get Your Revenge, Girl
Stephen King has inspired countless horror movies, shows, and books. While some of his stories are more well-known than others, I’d really like to see ‘Carrie’ get a fresh spotlight – specifically, by turning Carrie White into a playable Killer in a game.
Carrie was Stephen King’s first published novel, and its main character, Carrie, is deeply heartbreaking. She’s so tragic that when she finally lashes out during prom night, unleashing a violent rampage, you almost find yourself rooting for her.
Carrie’s ability to move things with her mind – often referred to as ‘The Shining’ within the story – makes her incredibly dangerous to anyone trying to get away. Even Eleven from Stranger Things isn’t as powerful with telekinesis, making Carrie’s powers a strong possibility for a unique ‘Killer Perk’ in the game.
It would be fantastic if Dead by Daylight accurately portrayed Carrie White as she’s described in the book – including her weight, acne, and appearance. Making her conventionally attractive would miss a key point of the story, so I really hope the designers prioritize her book description if they include her in the game.
4. Predator
The Alien is Already There, After All
It’s surprising that the Predator hasn’t been added as a Killer in Dead by Daylight, considering how popular the character is with fans.
With the Alien Xenomorph already in the game, Dead by Daylight is incredibly close to having its own version of the Alien vs. Predator crossover. Fans have been hoping for this blend of franchises in a video game for a long time, especially since it’s been successfully adapted into movies.
Considering how skilled the Predator is in combat, it makes sense that its Killer Perks would focus on those abilities. They might be a bit too good at eliminating other players, but that’s actually what we’re hoping for!
3. Jason Voorhees
Curse You, Copyright Laws!
As a huge Dead by Daylight fan, I, like so many others, have been begging for Jason Voorhees to be added to the game for ages! Friday the 13th is one of the classic slasher franchises missing from the roster, and it’s not because the developers haven’t tried to make it happen. It all comes down to those frustrating copyright issues – they really put a damper on everything, don’t they?
It’s true. The main reason Jason Voorhees hasn’t been added as a playable Killer in Dead by Daylight isn’t about the game itself – it’s due to issues with licensing and company decisions.

The problems with the Friday the 13th license aren’t limited to the developers of Dead by Daylight. Other games featuring the official Friday the 13th content also face copyright issues. It’s remarkable the movies themselves haven’t been removed from existence, given all the licensing complications.
This conflict will likely continue for a while, and many gamers are hoping Dead by Daylight – and ultimately, fans of slasher films – come out on top.
2. Frank Stone
The Universes are Connected
Many players don’t realize Dead by Daylight has a surprisingly detailed backstory! This lore is explored in a game called The Casting of Frank Stone, created by the same developers as The Dark Pictures Anthology and Until Dawn – Supermassive Games. Because of this connection, it’s quite possible we could see Frank Stone added to the game as a playable Killer.
Especially since, you know, he’s already a Killer in this universe — just somewhere else.
Expanding the lore beyond just collaborations would really enrich the story of Dead by Daylight, which currently feels a bit shallow. It’s good to hint that there are forces at play beyond just The Entity, suggesting a larger, more complex world.
Frank Stone is already a character in Dead by Daylight, meaning there are no copyright issues. So, what’s holding up his release?
1. Slenderman
Creepypastas Deserve a Place in DBD
If you weren’t familiar with the stranger corners of the internet in the early 2010s, you probably missed how popular creepypastas were with horror fans. But even if you weren’t, you’ve almost certainly heard of Slenderman – whether from video games or, sadly, from the real-life crimes connected to him.
The game includes many different Killers, and none of them originated from creepypasta stories. While creepypasta isn’t widely known, even people who don’t follow horror are familiar with Slenderman. He’s incredibly popular and should be recognized as such within Dead by Daylight.
The abilities of The Killer could vary depending on which version of the game’s backstory the developers used. But the one I remember most clearly involves his tentacles and the way he disrupts technology. He could completely halt a Survivor’s progress on fixing a generator, which is a major setback.
When considering which horror characters should be added to Dead by Daylight, Slenderman is the most important and fitting choice.
