EA has announced that it will stop supporting online servers for NBA Live 19 on January 30, 2026. Because many EA games, especially sports titles, rely heavily on online features, shutting down those servers means players will lose access to important parts of the game. While this is a concern for preserving these games long-term, EA does provide advance warning to players before ending support.
Electronic Arts maintains an up-to-date list of games they plan to discontinue, giving players plenty of notice before access is removed. This allows anyone wanting to play these games one last time the opportunity to do so, and potentially earn any achievements or trophies that require an online connection.
So, it looks like EA is sunsetting another one of their older games – this time it’s NBA Live 19. As a fan, it’s a little sad to hear, but they’ve announced the online servers will be shutting down on January 30, 2026. EA has changed these dates before, so there’s a small chance it could shift, but that’s the date we’re looking at for now if you still enjoy playing online.
NBA Live 19, which came out in 2018, got a mixed reaction from reviewers, but it’s generally seen as one of the stronger NBA Live games from the 2010s. Considering many NBA Live games that decade were poorly received, its score of 73 is actually pretty respectable. Despite this, the NBA Live series couldn’t compete with the popularity of the NBA 2K series, though fans still hope to see it make a comeback someday.

NBA Live 19 isn’t the only EA game ending support in 2026. Anthem’s servers will close on January 12th, and given how many EA games have been discontinued recently, it’s likely many more will follow. We don’t yet know which games those will be, but EA fans should watch for announcements. Older EA sports and racing games with online features are especially vulnerable to being shut down next year.
