Forza Horizon 6 Breaks Franchise Record on Steam Even Before Launch

Forza Horizon 6 is now available for everyone on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and with Xbox Game Pass. Players who purchased the $120 Premium Edition received early access last Thursday, and a large number of people did, leading to a new franchise record for the game on Steam before its official launch. Even leaks couldn’t slow down the excitement!

As a Forza fan, I was blown away by the numbers for Forza Horizon 6! Forza Horizon 5 had a huge launch, peaking at over 81,000 players on Steam, which was amazing. But Horizon 6 absolutely smashed that record, hitting over 181,000 players before it was even widely released – just those who got the Premium Edition! It’s incredible to see how much the series is growing.

With the official launch of Forza Horizon 6 today on Xbox and PC, it’s already becoming incredibly popular and will likely surpass previous player records. Currently, over 150,000 players are online, and that number is expected to keep growing, potentially reaching a new high point this weekend.

While official sales figures for Forza Horizon 6 aren’t available yet, early indications suggest it could be the most successful game in the series to date. The game has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, currently boasting a score of 91 on OpenCritic – making it the highest-rated game of 2026 so far.

Forza Horizon 6 is the latest installment in the popular Forza Horizon series, known for its arcade-style racing and open-world environments. This time, the game takes place in Japan – a location fans have been asking for! Players will participate in a festival, earning their way through various racing events – including road, dirt, and cross-country challenges – to unlock new content and progress through the game.

Forza Horizon 6 is out now for Xbox Series X/S and PC gamers. PlayStation 5 players can expect it to arrive later in 2024.
