I’ve been checking out Forza Horizon 6, and honestly, a lot of us fans are a little bummed about how few Volvos are in the game. Compared to Forza Horizon 5, the selection feels really limited. Hopefully, Playground Games will add more in future updates – I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a wider range of those awesome Swedish cars!
The latest installment in the popular Forza Horizon racing series, Forza Horizon 6, will be released on Xbox Series X/S and PC on May 19th. Players who bought the $120 Premium Edition, or the $60 Premium Edition Upgrade with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, got to start playing early on May 15th. Now that it’s out for some, people are already talking about all the new features and cars in the game.
Forza Horizon 6 Is Launching With Just 1 Volvo Car, Disappointing Some Fans
I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter from Volvo fans who are a little bummed about how few Volvo cars are in the new Forza Horizon game set in Japan. One post on Reddit, by user Wat_an_absolute_unit, really hit home – they pointed out that even though the game is launching with over 550 cars, there’s only one Volvo: the ’83 242 Turbo Evolution. It’s a big difference compared to Forza Horizon 5, which had three Volvos at launch and eventually added a fourth, but it took ages for that last one to show up!

One Reddit user, Wat_an_absolute_unit, pointed out that Volvo is a well-known car brand and should be featured more prominently in the latest racing games. Their post gained a lot of attention – hundreds of upvotes and a spot on the front page of the r/ForzaHorizon subreddit – just before the worldwide release of Forza Horizon 6.
Similar to previous games in the series, Forza Horizon 6 will get plenty of new content and downloadable additions over time, including more cars. Forza Horizon 5 almost doubled the number of cars available after about four years. For example, the 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar was added in an update in October 2024. This suggests Forza Horizon 6 could also add more Volvo cars, although it’s unlikely we’ll see a huge increase in the number of Volvo models featured in the game.

Volvo isn’t the only Swedish car brand that’s underrepresented in the newest Forza Horizon game. In fact, Saab is completely missing, with no Saab vehicles included at all. This isn’t a new issue for the Forza series, though – Saab hasn’t been featured since Forza Motorsport 4 in 2011 and has never appeared in any of the Forza Horizon games.
