After releasing the new Raid for the Legends multiplayer mode in Ghost of Yotei, Sucker Punch announced some exciting upcoming updates for the game. Since its release in October 2025, Ghost of Yotei has been very popular, and Sucker Punch is committed to improving the experience with new content and updates for players exploring the Hokkaido region of Japan.
While players are still hoping to hear about downloadable content, Sucker Punch has released Ghost of Yotei, a free multiplayer experience. It includes cooperative modes for two and four players, similar to what fans enjoyed in Ghost of Tsushima. This updated version adds story-based missions where players battle demonic forms of the Yotei Six. The classic Survival mode is also back, letting up to four players team up to defeat waves of enemies across four different maps. Recently, a new Raid mission launched, offering a challenging endgame experience for players.
Ghost of Yotei Legends Releases Its Last Major Update
After releasing the Raid for Ghost of Yotei Legends in April, Lead Designer Darren Bridges shared some thoughts on how it was made. The team at Sucker Punch thought of the mode as a challenging escape room, deliberately designed to be difficult. Knowing players have different skill levels and time constraints, they added features like the ability to quickly restart the boss fight after completing the puzzles, even if players run out of time, are having trouble, or need to stop playing.

Sucker Punch has been happy with how players have enjoyed the Raid, especially seeing the battles against the Demon Dragon in Ghost of Yotei. However, the team admits this update is the last big one planned for the Legends mode, and it concludes the story of the Yotei Six within that mode. Although Sucker Punch might be finished with large additions, it’s unclear exactly what this means. Smaller updates to address balance or fix bugs are still possible, but the statement suggests there won’t be any further major content added.
It’s unexpected, considering Ghost of Tsushima‘s Legends mode continued to receive updates long after it first came out. New content, including maps and modes like Rivals, was added a year after the initial game release, and even with the launches of the Iki Island expansion and Director’s Cut.

While Sucker Punch might not be classifying new maps as a significant update, it’s unclear what their plans are for future content. Players are hoping for a larger downloadable expansion, similar to the Iki Island add-on for Ghost of Tsushima. New content could potentially arrive with an expansion like that, but fans will need to wait for an official announcement from Sucker Punch or Sony.
