As a huge God of War fan, I was blown away by this incredible 3D-printed statue someone made! It shows Kratos battling a Cyclops Berserker, and it looks amazing. It’s crazy to think the series first came out in 2005, but it still has such a dedicated fanbase after all these years. And honestly, the 2018 game just made everything even better and brought in a ton of new fans like me!
Fans of the God of War series have a lot to look forward to! A new spin-off game, Sons of Sparta, just came out, and there’s a lot of talk about what the next main God of War game will be. Recent rumors suggest it could be another spin-off featuring Kratos’ wife, Faye, and the Norse god Tyr as the two main characters. This is different from what many people expected – a new game set in a completely different location, like Egypt.
The Original God of War Trilogy Is Fresh on Everybody’s Minds
I’m still a huge fan of the original God of War games, and it’s awesome to see other people are too! I recently saw this incredible thing on Reddit – a user named Sculpi_Sculpi shared a 3D-printed diorama of Kratos taking down a Cyclops Berserker. Apparently, a company called Tanuki Figures made the model, but Sculpi_Sculpi did all the painting themselves, which took them two or three weeks! Tanuki had a painted example, but Sculpi_Sculpi went with brighter colors, and it really pays off. The red blood and Kratos’ tattoos and armor just pop – it looks amazing!

The statue immediately catches the eye because it depicts Kratos gripping a giant enemy’s eyelid, ready to attack its eye with his Blades of Chaos. Fans of the original God of War trilogy will instantly recognize this pose. In God of War 2 and 3, Kratos defeats Cyclops enemies by ripping out their eyes – though he does so with his bare hands in those games. The eyes collected in the second game unlock a special costume. This particular Cyclops also appears in God of War Ragnarok, but the statue shows Kratos as he looked before the game’s reboot: leaner, with pale skin and no beard.
With detailed, collectible figurines from popular video games becoming very expensive, many gamers are now using 3D printing as a more affordable alternative. While it takes some effort to paint and finish them, 3D printing allows fans to own impressive, large-scale figures. Recently, some have even started 3D printing the new Steam Controller, which sold out almost instantly. These printed versions aren’t functional, but they can be a fun substitute until more official units become available.
Fans have a lot to look forward to, including a new television show coming to Amazon Prime and a complete remake of the original God of War trilogy. Announced on February 1st during a Sony presentation, the remake will update the first three games in the series with modern graphics and gameplay, and will feature the original voice actor, TC Carson. While the project is exciting, it’s still early in development, so a release date is likely some time away.
