As a huge fan of both games, I’m really excited about the Phasmophobia x Alan Wake collaboration! Basically, you can hunt down ‘Words of Power’ in Phasmophobia – there are 68 of them – and collecting them unlocks Alan Wake’s iconic suit as a cool outfit for your ghost hunter. Don’t worry about 68 sounding like a lot though, they’ve cleverly spread them across just four maps and they’re actually pretty easy to locate!
Here’s a breakdown of the difficulty level we used to unlock each Word of Power, and the UV Light needed to reveal them on the map. Don’t wait to get this outfit – it’s only available until June 2nd, so act fast!
The van comes standard with a basic UV Light. However, if you’ve reached a higher level, we suggest bringing a more powerful Tier 3 UV Light. The game’s difficulty setting doesn’t affect which light you should use!
How to Find All Words of Power in Phasmophobia
Before you start, set up a Custom Difficulty with the following settings:
- Starting Sanity: 100
- Sanity Drain Speed: 0%
- Flashlights: On
- Player Speed: 150%
- Friendly Ghost: On
These settings let you move around the map quickly and avoid being eliminated by ghosts during hunts. Any ghost that appears will be harmless and won’t attack!
Now that you’ve set up your difficulty, you will want to check out the following maps:

After choosing a map, grab both the UV Light and the Flashlight. You can hold one in each hand – use the Flashlight to see normally, and the UV Light to reveal hidden symbols.
You can use a UV light to find yellow arrows that will lead you to Words of Power. These Words of Power appear as circles of letters. Simply look at each circle for a few seconds until it disappears – that means you’ve collected it!
Finding Words of Power is simple: just use your UV Light and Flashlight to follow the arrows on the floor and walls. They’ll guide you to each Word of Power, and the arrow will vanish once you’ve collected it, so you won’t accidentally revisit the same spot!
There are 68 Words of Power to collect, but don’t worry, it’s not a huge task! You can locate all of them on each map in roughly 3 minutes by simply following the on-screen arrows.
