The Rekindle Embers Grimoire, also known as the Necromancy Grimoire, is one of the earliest magical items available in the game Hytale. It allows players to summon helpful skeleton minions to fight alongside them. Unlike most items, you can’t craft this grimoire – it’s a rare reward dropped by a difficult-to-find enemy. If you want to obtain one in Hytale, here’s how.
Where to Get Rekindle Embers Grimoires in Hytale
You can get these spellbooks by defeating Skeleton Praetorians – the big, tough undead enemies found in Zone 4. We’ve noticed they don’t appear very often across the whole zone, but they tend to show up more frequently in the ashy areas, like the one pictured above.
When you defeat these enemies, they have a chance to drop 5 Rekindle Ember Grimoires, along with various other items, including rare ores.
How to Use Rekindle Embers Grimoire in Hytale
To summon skeletons using the Rekindle Embers Grimoire in Hytale, you’ll first need to collect Piles of Skulls. While Skeleton Praetorians can drop them, you can also find them underground or in locations with many regular skeletons.
First, get a Pile of Skulls and put it in your hotbar. Place the pile down in front of you. Then, equip your necromancer spellbook and hold down the left mouse button until the charge bar is full. When you release the button, a skeleton warrior will spawn from the pile.
Each skeleton you create requires one Pile of Skulls and a Rekindle Embers Grimoire. While there’s no strict limit to the number of skeletons you can raise, you’ll be limited by how many Grimoires and skull piles you have. Essentially, if you can gather enough books and bones, you could theoretically create a huge army of skeletons.
Skeleton minions disappear after 5 minutes, or immediately if the player who summoned them dies. They can’t swim, and will actually drown if left in water too long, so it’s best not to summon them near lakes or oceans.
Skeletons only attack opponents you strike yourself – they won’t engage if you haven’t. Also, be careful not to stand in front of your own minions, as they might accidentally hit you while attacking!
