The Wakemaker is a key upgrade in Subnautica 2 that helps players swim much faster. It’s a worthwhile addition that will significantly improve the experience and make exploring the underwater world easier.
Getting the blueprints and crafting the Wakemaker are both surprisingly straightforward. Here’s how to do it.
All Wakemaker Blueprint Fragment Locations in Subnautica 2
Wakemaker Blueprint #1
- Distance from Lifepod: 95m
- Direction from Lifepod: N-NW (between 330 and 345 markers)
- Depth: 18m
You’ll find the first piece of the Wakemaker Blueprint inside a damaged metal container. It’s located about 95 meters from your Lifepod, near some orange coral in the shallow water area. To reach it, leave your Lifepod and set your compass to North-Northwest, aiming for the spot between the 330 and 345 degree markers – you can see this in the screenshot.
Swim 95 meters and then look straight down. You should see some old, damaged metal containers and scattered metal pieces among the coral. Check inside each container until you locate the one containing the Wakemaker fragment.
Wakemaker Blueprint #2
- Distance from Lifepod: 125m
- Direction from Lifepod: N (between 330 and 345 markers)
- Depth: 27m
Starting from where you found the first Wakemaker Blueprint, turn to face North, towards the 60 marker on your screen. You’ll see a small cave with pieces of broken Alterra technology around it. Go inside and look around – you’ll find the second Wakemaker Fragment in an open metal box hidden within the cave.
Wakemaker Blueprint #3
- Distance from Lifepod: 122m
- Direction from Lifepod: N-NW (300 marker)
- Depth: 53m
Once you have the second Blueprint, go back to where you found the first one. Then, look at the 240 marker on your screen, near the South symbol, and swim straight ahead for about 20 meters. Look down to find a crack in the seafloor – swim into it. Continue swimming down until you reach another metal box containing the last Wakemaker Fragment.
How to Craft a Wakemaker in Subnautica 2
Once you’ve gotten the Wakemaker blueprint, you can build it at any Fabricator with these materials.

Silver
Okay, so I found out where the silver is! It’s in these caves about 200 meters north of the Lifepod. They’re pretty easy to spot because they’re lit up with all sorts of glowing plants and creatures. The best way to find the entrance is to look for this little orange plant called Pent – it grows right near the cave openings.

You can find details about Silver’s location in the previous section. Copper Wire is crafted from Copper ore, which is plentiful in the caves near the starting area, alongside Titanium and other early-game resources.

You can find both Copper and Acidic Raion Pouches inside caves in the game’s starting area. Acidic Raion Pouches are purple, brain-shaped plants that grow on the cave floor and can be collected with the Survival Multitool.

Lucifer Rotsac are glowing plants that grow on Cradle Shootroots. You can find them about 70 meters east of the Lifepod, and their light makes them easy to see in the dark.
How to Recharge Wakemaker in Subnautica 2
Okay, so the Wakemaker runs on those Basic Batteries. Each time I use it, it drains a little power. When it needs a recharge, I just need to make sure I have a fully charged Basic Battery in my inventory. Then, I hit ‘R’ on my keyboard (that’s the reload hotkey!), and a little prompt pops up on screen telling me to load the battery. Super easy!
The Wakemaker manages the Basic Battery, and when it runs out of power, it’ll be added to your inventory. You can recharge Basic Batteries using a Battery Terminal, which is a base module you unlock by finding and scanning its pieces.
