How to Open the Windmere Manor Strongbox in Crimson Desert

Okay, so I found this ring called the Mark of Darkness, and it’s actually pretty good! It boosts my attack power and how fast I swing, plus it gives me a little extra stamina regen – about 2%. What’s cool is you can get it pretty early on in Crimson Desert, or later if you’re taking your time, but you’ve gotta head over to Windmere Manor in Demeniss to snag it. It’s a bit of a trek, but worth it, I think!

How to Get the Mark of Darkness Ring in Crimson Desert

  • Head north of the “M” in “Demeniss” to find Windmere Manor.
  • There are hostile guards patrolling the manor, but you can kill them without getting a bounty. Alternatively, you can climb the back of the manor to open a window on the second floor and avoid a fight.
  • Once you’re inside the Windmere Manor, head upstairs and enter the last room on the left.
  • You’ll find a strongbox here, which, when opened, will allow you to pick up the Mark of Darkness Ring.
  • You will need a Mask to “Steal” the Mark of Darkness Ring, and you will also need to aim with L1/LB at the pouch to pick it up.

How to Solve the Windmere Manor Strongbox Puzzle in Crimson Desert

Okay, so the Strongbox puzzle is all about these painting pieces. Basically, you’ve got nine fragments and you need to rotate them – either clockwise or counter-clockwise – until they all fit together and form a complete picture of a whale. It’s a bit like a jigsaw puzzle, but with rotating pieces!

  • Painting Fragment #1 (top left) — Turn clockwise once.
  • Painting Fragment #2 (top middle) — Turn clockwise twice.
  • Painting Fragment #5 (middle, middle) — Turn clockwise twice.
  • Painting Fragment #6 (middle right) — Turn clockwise twice.
  • Painting Fragment #7 (bottom left) — Turn clockwise once.
  • Painting Fragment #9 (bottom right) — Turn clockwise once.
