The new Shadow Update for Ball x Pit adds eleven new balls, four passive abilities, and two new characters to play as. While most of the new content is easy to unlock, figuring out how to get some of the advanced upgrades might take a little effort.
The recent updates to Ball x Pit have added some new evolutions that require players to combine two existing ones, so a little preparation is helpful. However, it’s fairly straightforward if you know what you need, especially if you can find some of the necessary balls early in the game.
All New Ball Evolutions in Ball x Pit’s Shadow Update

The Shadow Update adds ten new ways to evolve your balls, with four using the new Time ball. The other six require combining existing ‘Ball x Pit’ evolutions, which can be challenging if you don’t plan ahead. For complicated evolutions like Sniper and Reaper, it’s best to start with characters who already have the necessary balls. If you don’t get the balls you need at the beginning of a run, use the quick restart feature to try again.
All New Passive Evolutions in Ball x Pit’s Shadow Update
The recent Shadow Update added four new passive abilities for the Ball x Pit game mode. Players can obtain the Argent Stopwatch by merging the Hourglass and Silver Bullet. The Arrow of Fate is created by combining the Hand Mirror and Lover’s Quiver, and the Full Metal Rapier—which was also new in this update—is made by combining the Iron Onesie and Sword Breaker.

All New Characters in Ball x Pit’s Regal Update
Similar to the Regal Update, the Shadow Update introduces two new playable characters. Players can unlock these characters by finding and constructing the Stone Domain and Hidden Temple blueprints. Both blueprints are located within the Smoldering Depths stage of Ball x Pit.
