HUAWEI is Testing a 10,000mAh Battery For Its Next Flagship Smartphone

HUAWEI is working on a smartphone with a huge 10,000mAh battery. They recently put a battery exceeding 10,000mAh in their new MatePad Pro tablet, and now they’re aiming to do the same for their phones.

Sources on Weibo suggest that HUAWEI is planning to significantly increase battery life in future devices. They’re not only aiming for larger batteries, potentially exceeding 10,000mAh, but also developing new battery technology and materials to make it happen.

According to the report, this isn’t simply a battery with more capacity—it appears to be a completely new battery technology.

Recent reports suggested some smartphone makers were exploring a new battery technology using double-layer coatings. This technology could potentially double the battery’s capacity without increasing its size, allowing manufacturers to use smaller batteries while maintaining the same power.

It’s still unclear if HUAWEI’s new battery technology will use a double-layer system. Right now, the company hasn’t released many details about it.

HUAWEI previously revealed its Pura 90 Series phones for 2026, meaning this new technology wasn’t ready in time for that launch. However, HUAWEI also has its Mate Series, which is considered its top-of-the-line product range. This series could be a great place to introduce and test this new battery technology if it becomes available in the future.
