I’m a huge fan of Isekai, and honestly, it’s everywhere in Japan! Because there are so many, it’s hard for one to really break through the noise. But for me, ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ is the king of them all. It’s easily become one of the most popular Isekai series in recent years, both in Japan and around the world, and it’s one that just seems to win everyone over!

2026 promises a lot for the ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ series, with a new movie releasing this month and more anime on the way. However, the main story of the original light novel series has finished with the release of its 23rd volume. Don’t worry though, the franchise isn’t over! A new light novel series, ‘Tensura Gaiden,’ will continue the story in 2026, acting as a sequel to the original.
