Jacob Elordi, the popular actor recently nominated for an Oscar for his work in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, hasn’t appeared in any video game movies yet. However, fans think he’d be perfect for a role in Kingdom Hearts. Although he might not be the first person you’d think of for a Kingdom Hearts adaptation, there’s one character he’d play brilliantly.
Jacob Elordi has quickly become a prominent actor, appearing in films like Priscilla, Saltburn, Frankenstein, and Wuthering Heights. He’s also known for his role in the popular HBO series Euphoria, which is currently in its third season. Beyond acting, Elordi is a big video game enthusiast, recently revealing on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast that Kingdom Hearts is his favorite series. This passion could make him a strong candidate for any future film or TV adaptation of the game.
Jacob Elordi Should Play Terra in Kingdom Hearts Movie Adaptation
Even if Jacob Elordi appeared in a live-action Kingdom Hearts adaptation, he wouldn’t play Sora. Many characters in the Kingdom Hearts games are teenagers, and Elordi, at 28, is too old to convincingly portray them. This would also likely be true for a character like Riku, as any accurate adaptation needs actors who reflect the characters’ ages.

Jacob Elordi would be a fantastic choice to play Terra. The character, originally from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and reappearing in KH3, is known for being strong and carrying a lot of weight on his shoulders – qualities Elordi could definitely portray. He’s also the right age for the part, making him a great fit overall. The main question is whether future adaptations of the series will feature Terra, as he doesn’t have a huge role currently. If they do, Elordi should absolutely be considered for the role.
It’s really valuable when someone deeply familiar with the original video game series is involved in its TV or movie adaptation. Henry Cavill, who played Geralt in The Witcher for the first three seasons, is a great example. Because he was a big fan of the books, he was able to add details that made the show more true to the source material and pleased fans. Often, not everyone working on these adaptations is a dedicated fan, so having at least a few people who truly understand and appreciate the game is crucial. Jacob Elordi could potentially bring that same level of passion to a Kingdom Hearts adaptation, similar to what Cavill did for The Witcher.
