While not an instant hit with everyone, it quickly became the best-selling launch game for the GameCube. A sequel arrived in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS, receiving more positive reviews, and in 2019 the third Luigi’s Mansion game was released on the Nintendo Switch. This latest installment earned a high score of 85 from critics on OpenCritic and, as of March 2024, has sold over 14 million copies.

Movie has earned over $400 million worldwide and is projected to reach $750 million by the end of the week. Nick hinted that this success is likely prompting Nintendo to greenlight more film projects, and mentioned that a Luigi’s Mansion movie is currently being considered.
Following a retweet by Shpeshal Nick, the Global Box Office X account reported that Nintendo is proposing a Luigi’s Mansion movie. One X user, @The_Joker, responded by saying fans are hoping for a new Luigi’s Mansion game instead. Shpeshal Nick then stated they believe a new game is in development, and that a Luigi’s Mansion Amiibo may also be planned. However, they haven’t revealed any details about the game’s gameplay or when it might be released.
Leaks Claim That Nintendo Switch 2 Has a Big Year Ahead
