On April 30, 2026, Oricon released its weekly sales chart for the period of April 20-26, revealing the bestselling manga in Japan. The results were surprising, as a spin-off of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, titled One Piece Chopper’s, took the number one spot.
Many fans may not know that One Piece Chopper’s is a spin-off manga created by Shueisha. It follows Chopper as he experiences everyday life, separate from the main One Piece storyline. The manga blends comic panels with real-life photos, making it a great item for collectors. It recently became a surprising bestseller, even outside of Japan, selling over 282,490 copies. One Piece Chopper’s latest volume sold over four times as many copies as the number two manga, Bluelock, with 68,487 copies sold. Bluelock is a hugely popular series and was actually Japan’s best-selling manga in 2023, outselling even One Piece, Demon Slayer, and Jujutsu Kaisen. This makes Chopper’s strong performance even more notable. However, it’s worth noting that the latest volume of Bluelock was released three weeks ago and sales are naturally declining.
One Piece Chopper outperformed several other popular series in sales. It beat Daemons of the Shadow Realm (54,380 sales) even though that series has a current anime, as well as Detective Conan (47,425 sales) and SpyxFamily (46,784 sales).
After huge fan requests, the latest volume of One Piece featuring Chopper is now available in Japan, officially launching on April 23, 2026. Its popularity is boosted by a special, limited-edition trading card game (TCG) card included with the volume – the demand for these rare cards is driving sales. While it’s currently only available in Japan, given its success, it’s likely this volume will also be released in North America soon.

Why One Piece Will Dominate Sales in 2026
