At its heart, Life is Strange uses supernatural abilities to represent the challenges of growing up, especially for those who feel like outsiders. This blend of personal growth and navigating a larger world has always been the core of the series. However, the games haven’t always successfully conveyed this message, and sometimes it feels lost in the storytelling. This is why I have such strong, polarized reactions to each Life is Strange game – I either love them or dislike them intensely. But when you look at the series as a whole, the highs and lows seem to be a natural part of its overall message.

Despite a challenging initial experience, many dedicated players consider Crimson Desert a hidden gem. A major difficulty for players has been mastering the game’s unique control scheme. Beyond that, feedback has focused on areas like the story, combat system, quest design, and the lengthy wait time to use the dragon mount. Fortunately, Pearl Abyss is actively listening to players and releasing updates based on their suggestions, and there’s hope that future improvements will include better indoor lighting.

Tiny Bookshop, created by Neoludic Games, is a 2025 game where you escape to a charming seaside town called Bookstonbury and start a small, mobile bookstore. You’ll focus on curating your book and item selection, designing your shop to attract different customers, and recommending books to the locals. As you run your business, you’ll slowly uncover the history of Bookstonbury, which gives you a reason to keep playing. With its hand-drawn art style, calming music, and cozy atmosphere, Tiny Bookshop is known for being a wonderfully relaxing experience.

The Game Boy’s games were often simpler than those on home consoles, and that was a good thing. While you could play big, involved RPGs, most games were perfect for short bursts of fun – easy to pick up and play anywhere, like in the car or while waiting. Even longer games were engaging because they grabbed your attention right away.

The Professor Layton series is beloved for its clever puzzles and charming point-and-click exploration, often praised for its beautiful art style reminiscent of Studio Ghibli films. New World of Steam continues this tradition with a wealth of puzzles, now enhanced by modern cel-shaded 3D graphics. For the first time since Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, players will once again join Layton and Luke as they team up to solve a mystery in the American town of Steam Bison – marking the duo’s first adventure together in 13 years.

Amazon Luna is a service that lets you stream and play games on devices like computers and phones. It has two subscription options: Standard and Premium. The Standard tier is included with your Amazon Prime membership and gives you access to a selection of games that changes regularly. For $9.99 a month, Luna Premium provides a much bigger library of games to choose from. As of October 2025, Amazon Luna is the main brand, having combined with the previous Prime Gaming service.

Fortunately, many games are re-released on different platforms with updates or complete overhauls, and some excellent PS3 titles – like The Last of Us and Dead Space – are already available on other consoles. While PlayStation Plus does offer streaming access to some PS3 games, it’s not quite the same as having them installed directly. Plus, streaming services might not always be available, so if you want to keep enjoying these PS3 classics long-term, it’s probably best to purchase them now.

I’m so excited for the PlayStation Plus Essential games next April! They’re adding Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered for both PS4 and PS5. It’s awesome that Aspyr brought back the original Lara Croft adventures – I’ve been wanting to replay those classics! And it’s great to hear they were successful enough to release Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered a year later too. It means we’ll get to enjoy even more of the early Tomb Raider games with a fresh coat of paint!
