Goldfish is excited to announce it’s partnering with Pokemon again to mark the franchise’s 30th birthday! The special edition Goldfish crackers will come in Pokemon-themed packaging featuring the original Kanto starters – Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur – plus Pikachu.
The world of Pokémon extends far beyond its original video games, trading cards, and animated series. From the beginning, Pokémon has created toys featuring its many creatures, and has also explored things like board games, clothing, and recently, a partnership with LEGO. The Pokémon Company has frequently collaborated with well-known food brands to create Pokémon-themed snacks, including partnerships with Hershey’s and Oreo. Now, a collaboration with Goldfish crackers, which first launched in 2025, is making a comeback with new packaging to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary.
Pokemon is Teaming Up With Goldfish
Goldfish and Pokémon are teaming up! Starting in May, you’ll find special Pokémon-themed Goldfish packaging featuring Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu. Each bag will have a unique design, and some of the crackers inside will even be shaped like the Pokémon themselves – the original starters and Pikachu leaping into action! These limited-edition Goldfish will be the classic cheddar flavor, and you’ll find the Pikachu bags exclusively at Walmart and Target.

Pokémon and Goldfish are teaming up with a fun contest! Starting May 1st, Goldfish will be holding a sweepstakes where the lucky winners will get a trip to the Pokémon Fossil Museum at Chicago’s Field Museum. This special exhibit includes Pokémon-inspired fossil replicas and teaches visitors about paleontology by comparing them to real dinosaur bones. Goldfish hasn’t announced details on how to enter the giveaway just yet.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Pokémon franchise made a lot of exciting announcements during its annual Pokémon Day livestream. Fans learned about the next generation of main Pokémon games, titled Pokémon Winds and Waves. A re-release of the classic Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen games was also revealed, bringing these Kanto region remakes to new platforms for the first time. And for Pokémon Trading Card Game players, a special 30th anniversary expansion is planned for 2026, featuring reprints of beloved cards from the game’s past.

As a huge Pokémon fan, I’m so excited about everything they’re doing to celebrate the anniversary! It’s not just about the main games, either. The LEGO collaboration was amazing – I was so happy to see full sets of the final Kanto starters, plus smaller ones for Eevee and Pikachu! And during the anniversary stream, they revealed a Game Boy-shaped music player with the entire soundtrack from Pokémon Red and Blue – how cool is that?! Honestly, with all the new games and these awesome collaborations, Pokémon’s 30th anniversary is shaping up to be incredible.
