The Pokémon Trading Card Game has announced nine special promotional cards coming with the second release of the First Partner Collection. These exciting Pokémon TCG cards showcase the starter Pokémon from the Johto, Unova, and Galar regions.
The popular Pokémon Trading Card Game is celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary with a lot of exciting releases. So far this year, two big expansions – Ascended Heroes and Perfect Order – have come out, and another, Chaos Rising, is coming soon. Fans have also enjoyed special anniversary products like the Pokémon Day box featuring a unique Pikachu, and the first set of the First Partner Collection with starter Pokémon from the Kanto, Sinnoh, and Alola regions. Now, a second series of the First Partner Collection is on its way, bringing nine new starter Pokémon promo cards.
Pokemon TCG Reveals First Partner Collection Series 2 Promos
The Pokémon Trading Card Game has announced the new promo cards coming in the second release of the First Partner Collection. These cards feature special artwork for the starter Pokémon from the Johto, Unova, and Galar regions. Each box of the First Partner Collection will contain one of these region-specific card sets. The designs cleverly reference memorable places and events from the games – for example, the Totodile card shows Shiny Gyarados at the Lake of Rage, and the Oshawott promo features the Ferris wheel from Nimbasa City. The Pokémon TCG’s First Partner Collection Series 2 will be available starting June 19th.

The new collection of Pokémon promotional items is predicted to be very popular with fans. The first release of First Partner Collection boxes was also highly desired by collectors, especially because it included the original three Kanto starter Pokémon. Individual cards featuring Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle from that set are now selling for over $20 on resale markets.
After the initial set of starter promo cards, Pokemon will likely release a final version of the First Partner Collection. This third series, expected in late 2026, will complete the set by featuring starter Pokemon from the Hoenn, Kalos, and Paldea regions. Like previous versions, the new promo cards will likely showcase Pokemon such as Mudkip and Fennekin in iconic locations from their respective regions. While Pokemon hasn’t announced an exact date, Series 3 is probably coming in August or September, following the pattern of releases from earlier sets.
