PlayStation Plus members can get a free movie credit for Sony Pictures Core this month. Just play the game Resident Evil Village for 30 minutes – it’s included with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.
PlayStation Plus is offering a lot of free content in April 2026! All members can currently download Lords of the Fallen, a remastered collection of the first three Tomb Raider games, and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream. Those with Extra or Premium subscriptions will receive even more games soon. Plus, there will be some special, limited-time free items available for subscribers.
PlayStation Plus Subscribers Can Earn a Free Sony Pictures Core Movie Credit
Okay, so this is awesome! If you’re a PlayStation Plus member and play Resident Evil Village for at least half an hour before April 30th, you’ll get a free movie credit for Sony Pictures Core. It’s that simple! I saw someone over on the PlayStation Plus subreddit – user wolfecho999 – posted about it on April 7th, and it seems legit. The credit should automatically show up in your Sony Pictures Core app by May 8th. Definitely a cool little perk!
PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium members can easily get a free movie credit by playing Resident Evil Village. The game is included with their subscription, so all they need to do is download it and play for at least 30 minutes before April 30th. It’s currently unclear if PlayStation Plus Essential members can get the credit by playing the game through other methods, like a digital copy they already own.
Sony Pictures Core has a lot of movies to choose from, but if you’re a new user getting a free credit with the Resident Evil Village PS Plus offer, keep in mind you can’t use that single credit for every movie. Most new releases cost multiple credits to rent or buy, so you’ll either need to rent them or choose from older titles with your free credit.

PlayStation Plus users have more than just a free movie credit to look forward to this month thanks to Resident Evil! Until April 30th, PS4 and PS5 owners can also get a special set of Resident Evil-themed avatars celebrating the series’ 30th anniversary. To claim them, you’ll need to add Resident Evil Requiem to your wishlist or purchase it, download the Sony Pictures Core app on your PlayStation, and register through Sony’s promotional website. If you complete these steps, you’ll receive a voucher code – likely via email or PlayStation notifications – though it may not arrive until late June 2026.
