With the latest update to Crimson Desert (Patch 1.05.00), a new feature called Re-Blockade has been added. This means enemies can now re-invade areas you’ve already cleared, requiring you to fight to reclaim them. Everything from small camps to large forts is vulnerable to being retaken, which could be challenging for players.
Fortunately, you can turn off the Re-Blockade feature, which means once you clear an area, it stays cleared. This saves you from having to constantly revisit places, fight off waves of enemies, and discover that areas you’ve already liberated have been retaken.
How to Disable Re-Blockades in Crimson Desert
- Click Start/Options and press R1/RB to enter the “Others” tab.
- Press L2/LT to reach “Options”, and select “Settings”.
- Use L2/LT in the Settings to reach “Gameplay”.
- In the Gameplay Settings, turn “Re-Blockade Frequency” to “Stable”.
- This will ensure that liberated strongholds remain safely protected, and they will never be retaken by enemies.
Re-Blockade Settings in Crimson Desert, Explained
Outside of “Stable”, there are two more options for the Re-Blockade Frequency:
Conflict
Okay, so here’s the deal: sometimes, after I clear out an area, I’ll come back and find enemies have retaken it. It’s super annoying! It usually happens after I fast travel somewhere or take a rest, and honestly, there’s no way to tell which of my strongholds is going to be back in enemy hands when I return. It’s totally random!
War
Enemy forces are quickly retaking captured areas, leading to ongoing and intense battles. You can expect constant fighting as they strongly resist our advances.
Final Thoughts on Re-Blockade in Crimson Desert
I recommend turning off Re-Blockade by choosing the “Stable” option for its frequency. While the idea behind Re-Blockade – letting players continue testing builds after clearing the map – is good, it’s best to disable it for a smoother experience.
Because the game world is huge and full of hidden things, I’d rather spend my time discovering them than constantly retaking areas, which slows down my exploration.
If you enjoy slowing down fights and getting sidetracked, Re-Blockade might be for you. However, if you prefer exploring without worrying about losing progress due to time limits, it’s best to leave Re-Blockade turned off.
