In Nioh 3, you’ll find many side quests and myths offered by spirits you meet. These spirits ask for your help with tasks and won’t disappear until you finish them. Luckily, the game’s map conveniently marks most of these quests, making them easier to find and complete.

As you head towards the southeastern exit of Awawa no Tsuji, you’ll encounter the spirit of an Onmyo mage. This mage needs your help instead of other mages. Below is a guide to completing the ‘Shadows on the Capital’ myth in Nioh 3 and claiming its rewards.

Once you’ve accepted the quest from the spirit, quickly travel to the Tacchi Gate Shrine. Then, head north, following the same route you took to complete the Lesser Crucible in this region. As you get closer to your goal, you’ll enter an area teeming with Yokai and discover it’s an enemy stronghold.

You’ll need to defeat six enemies in the Dark Realm. Once they’re all gone, a spirit will appear and ask you to go to Kamo Village.

  • While facing the Shrine up on the hill, head towards the area on the left.
  • Drop down into the narrow gap that has a corpse and a few wooden boxes at the end.
  • Break the boxes and crouch through to reach the other side.
  • Take a right to reach the Shrine.

You can trade the Sudama for Smithing Texts, but you’ll need Yokai Teardrops to complete the exchange.

Okay, so I headed west from the enemy base and found this Shrine. From there, I went north and climbed some boxes to jump across to the other side. I followed the path east, going up to the Temple, and ran into a few Onmyo Mages and this tough enemy, a One-Eyed Oni. After taking them all down, the quest finished, and I got Ninja’s Locks and the Divination Board as a reward!
