Solo Leveling Gives A New Official Look At Sung Jinwoo’s Biggest Upcoming Fight

Released in January 2024, Solo Leveling is a fantastic action anime created by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures. While the anime is what brought it widespread attention, the story originally began as a popular web novel written by Chugong. It then became a manhwa due to its quality and success. These three forms – the web novel, manhwa, and anime – are considered the core of the Solo Leveling experience. Fans also enjoy the video game adaptation, Solo Leveling: Arise.

The popular game Solo Leveling: Arise is constantly updating with fresh content, and the story is now hinting at Jinwoo’s most challenging fight yet – a showdown with the Three Monarchs. A recent teaser released on May 12, 2026, has generated a lot of excitement, and fans are eager to see more of this epic battle.

Solo Leveling: Arise Teases Sung Jinwoo’s Legendary Battle Against The Monarchs In A New Teaser

I’ve been watching the buzz around Solo Leveling: Arise, the RPG from Netmarble Studio. It’s a game based on the popular Solo Leveling story, available on mobile and PC. It launched in 2024, but it’s really taken off recently with the anime bringing in a lot of new players eager to experience the world. The game is incredibly popular right now, and Netmarble is constantly adding new content. Just on May 12, 2026, they released a teaser trailer showing what looks like Jinwoo’s next major challenge: a fight against the Three Monarchs. Fans of the original story will recognize this as a key part of the Monarchs War arc – specifically chapters 150 to 166 – which is often considered a highlight of the entire Solo Leveling series.

The first preview wasn’t a traditional animated trailer. Instead, it used images directly from the comic and presented them as a moving slideshow, enhanced with voiceovers and a thrilling soundtrack. The preview also showcases the three main villains who will appear in the story:

  • Sillad, the King of Snow Folk and the Monarch of Frost
  • Rakan, the King of Beasts and the Monarch of Fangs.
  • Querehsha, the Queen of Insects and the Monarch of Plagues

The three Monarchs are incredibly strong and plan to fight Sung Jinwoo together. Like other major battles in Solo Leveling: Arise, this fight will be showcased with a high-quality animated promotional video using the game’s character models. The recent video featuring Jinwoo versus Thomas Andre, released on May 12, 2026, serves as a good example of what to expect.

Solo Leveling’s Monarchs Stand As Sung Jinwoo’s Toughest Enemies

Throughout the story, Jinwoo has faced many incredibly strong opponents. He first truly tested his abilities against Igris, after gaining access to the System. He then battled Baran and the Ant King during the Jeju Island Raid. While the anime covers these fights, the webtoon (Manhwa) shows him taking on even more challenging enemies.

The fight between Jinwoo and The Architect, planned for Solo Leveling Season 3, will be difficult, but his real challenge lies ahead with the Monarchs. Their sheer numbers give them a significant edge, and initially, despite Jinwoo defeating one, he’s killed by the other two. Thankfully, his father, Sung II-Hwan, saves him. This battle is where Jinwoo truly unlocks his potential and ultimately defeats the Monarchs. Beyond them, only Antares, the series’ main villain, poses a greater threat, and he will also be featured in the ‘Solo Leveling: Arise’ animation.

Jinwoo Vs Monarch Could Take Years To Be Fully Animated In The TV Series

The battle between Jinwoo and the Monarchs in Solo Leveling: Arise is a highlight for many fans, and there’s a lot of anticipation to see it animated in the TV anime. However, with Season 3 of Solo Leveling still in the future, an adaptation of this fight isn’t likely to happen soon. Considering Season 3 will probably cover the Double Dungeon arc at minimum, this battle will most likely be part of Season 4, meaning fans can expect to see it animated in roughly 3 to 5 years.

Good news for fans! Atsushi Kaneko, a producer at A-1 Pictures, recently announced that the new anime adaptation of Solo Leveling is currently in production, and we’ll hear more details shortly.
