Splatoon Raiders Confirms Release Date

The new game, Splatoon Raiders, is confirmed to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23, 2026. Unlike previous Splatoon games which centered around online multiplayer battles, Splatoon Raiders will be primarily a single-player action shooter.

The Splatoon series began in May 2015, created by Shintaro Sato and Hisashi Nogami, and was initially available only on the Nintendo Wii U. It quickly became a popular new franchise for Nintendo, with the first game receiving an average review score of 81 on OpenCritic. In 2017, Splatoon 2 was released on the Nintendo Switch and became one of the console’s most successful launch titles. The latest installment, Splatoon 3, arrived on the Nintendo Switch in September 2022 and is considered the best game in the series so far.

Splatoon Raiders Launches July 23 As a Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive

After being shown off in June 2025, Nintendo has announced that Splatoon Raiders will officially launch on July 23rd. The game will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. Along with the release date, Nintendo shared a new three-minute trailer giving fans a look at the gameplay and story.

The latest trailer for Splatoon Raiders briefly shows off the character customization options, including a variety of cool hairstyles players can use to create their Inkling. The trailer then focuses on the game’s main single-player experience, where you’ll battle colorful enemies, explore a large map, and build helpful gadgets using resources you collect during gameplay.

According to his report, we might see a new Nintendo Switch Sports – either a standalone title or a version for the Switch 2 – alongside Switch 2 editions of Pikmin 4 and entirely new installments of Star Fox, Rhythm Heaven Groove, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and Splatoon Raiders.

Although we haven’t heard official announcements about a new Star Fox game or Switch 2 versions of Switch Sports and Pikmin 4, and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave still doesn’t have a release date, Nintendo recently announced Rhythm Heaven Groove will launch on July 2nd, fitting the expected summer timeframe. Splatoon Raiders is also confirmed to release on July 23rd, supporting earlier leaks about a new Nintendo Switch 2 from NateTheHate. He previously suggested a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will arrive on the Switch 2 later this year, followed by a new 3D Super Mario game sometime in 2027. Remember, all rumors and leaks should be viewed with skepticism.
