Splitgate Devs Might Be Making a Titanfall Clone

It’s been a decade since Titanfall 2 came out, and fans have been hoping for a sequel ever since. While a third Titanfall game might never happen, the team behind the multiplayer game Splitgate may be creating something similar to fill the void.

Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson recently got a sneak peek at Empulse, the upcoming game from the creators of Splitgate (1047 Games). He says the gameplay feels a lot like Titanfall, with features like wall-running, grappling hooks, and the ability to control a large mech.

Ian Proulx, CEO of 1047 Games, recently shared details about their next game. He mentioned a small team is already developing it alongside Splitgate. The game will be a fast-paced shooter, and the developers are particularly interested in feedback from fans of games like Titanfall and Black Ops 3.

Okay, so 1047 Games has a bit of a mixed history. The first Splitgate did alright, but the sequel kinda flopped when it came out – not many people played it, and the reviews weren’t great. Plus, things got a little weird when the CEO, Ian Proulx, showed up to Summer Games Fest wearing a “Make FPS Games Great Again” hat and started criticizing games like Call of Duty. It definitely raised some eyebrows and people were confused by that move.

The early criticism of Splitgate 2 likely damaged its potential, leading 1047 Games to shift gears. Now, the studio is trying a fresh start with a game very similar to Titanfall. Whether this new approach will succeed remains to be seen, as online reaction can make or break a game these days.
