Players on Steam have access to all the official Sims games, and now have a new game to anticipate coming on May 25th. Steam features both the newest Sims titles from EA and Maxis, and older favorites. The Sims 4, for example, is currently available on Steam and continues to receive updates and support.
I’ve been playing The Sims 4 since it came out in 2014, and wow, it’s changed a lot since the beginning! They’ve added so much content over the last ten years, it’s honestly kind of crazy. But even with all the updates, a lot of us Sims fans are really hoping for a completely new game. EA and Maxis haven’t announced anything yet, though.
Paralives Should Greatly Appeal to Sims Fans
With no new game from the creators of The Sims, other developers are stepping up to offer similar life simulation experiences with their own unique features. One of these, Paralives, is finally available in early access after being announced seven years ago. It will launch on Monday, May 25th, and boasts a charming, cartoonish style that gives off a relaxing, “cozy game” feeling, likely appealing to Sims fans looking for a fresh experience.

Paralives lets you create unique characters, called Parafolks, and then watch their lives unfold – or step in and influence them, similar to The Sims. These Parafolks live in a connected, open world where they can work, build relationships, have families, and experience life’s full cycle. Plus, you can design and customize their homes just like in The Sims, making Paralives a very comprehensive life simulation game.
I’m so hyped for Paralives to hit Steam on May 25th! It’s launching in early access, which means the developers are planning tons of big updates over the next months and years as they finish the game. They’ve already teased so much cool stuff coming later – things like weather, seasons, pets like dogs and cats, vehicles, swimming pools, gardening, fishing, and even tools to really build and customize towns! Honestly, Paralives is a seriously ambitious game trying to take on The Sims, and while we’ll have to wait and see if it delivers on all the promise, everything I’ve seen so far looks amazing!

While many games are trying to compete with The Sims, InZOI is a good option for players eager to try something new while waiting for Paralives. InZOI stands out with its more realistic graphics compared to other life simulation games. Although it launched with limited content, it has received significant updates and is now a much more complete experience. Like Paralives, InZOI is still in early access, meaning it’s continuously being improved and expanded with new features.
