Okay, so finding Troilite in Subnautica 2 is no joke! You’ve got to head to this area with these bright green pools, but be warned – it’s seriously crawling with dangerous creatures. It’s a risky trip, but don’t worry, I’m putting together this guide to make getting Troilite as easy as possible for you. I’ll break it all down so you know exactly what to do!

Okay, so to get this done, first you gotta locate both the Alien Ruins and the Angel Comb – they’re close by. Once you’ve found those, just hit the Tab key to bring up your inventory, and then choose ‘Signals’ from the menu. That’s all there is to it!

This journey is easier after unlocking the ability to go deeper with the Tadpole in Subnautica 2.

In Subnautica 2, head east from the Alien Ruins towards where the Angel Comb is located. If you haven’t discovered it yet, you’ll unlock it after traveling about 400 meters east. For the best view, descend to a depth of around 300 meters.

From the Angel Comb, switch your destination to the northeast and go below 400 meters.

As you continue for about 300 meters, you’ll begin to notice green pools in the distance. Keep descending with the Tadpole, heading towards the Troilite area.

Watch out for the giant squid while you’re here! You’ll need to find a secure location for the Tadpole before gathering Troilite. If you get too close to the squid while carrying the Tadpole, it will attack, so it’s best to stay low to the sea floor and move around freely.

Once you’ve moved past the Tadpole, descend as far down as you can, staying close to the seabed. Look for green rocks near the water pools – these are called Mineralized Clinkers. Breaking them open will reward you with Troilite.

Other than Troilite, you’ll find a lot of other rocks, like Celestine in Subnautica 2.

You need a Sonic Resonator to break the Mineralized Clinkers and get Troilite in Subnautica 2.

Once you destroy the Troilite rocks, the Troilite ores will be added to your inventory.

This area is very dangerous. Territorial monsters wander around and will attack if you get too close. Above the pool lives a giant squid that will attack your Tadpole if you venture near. The green pool is also right next to a red zone where a massive whale can instantly defeat both you and your Tadpole. If the whale gets your Tadpole, it’s stuck there, and the whale will repeatedly attack you whenever you try to retrieve it. You’ll either have to desperately try to save it, potentially driving yourself crazy, or abandon it to the whale and start over with a new one.
