In Hytale, Ice is a valuable resource used to craft powerful weapons and build unique structures. Gathering it early on can give players a head start. It also has interesting properties – you can slide on Ice and even build slides for fun!
Looking for Ice or Blue Ice in Hytale? This guide has everything you need to know about finding it!
Where to Find Ice in Hytale
You can find ice primarily in Hytale’s Tundra or Snow Mountain biomes, but it can be hard to spot. The ice blocks look very similar to snow blocks, which often confuses players.
Generally, if you see white blocks near water – like along coasts, in rivers, or even around floating icebergs – you’ll likely find ice nearby.
Gathering enough ice to make items like the Slow Totem—a powerful weapon in the game—can be really difficult. The Tundra Biome is a risky area, packed with dangerous creatures such as Snow Leopards and the Savages—human-like beings corrupted by Void energy.
The best way to find Ice is to stay near the coast and avoid going inland or into the mountains. You can collect it near rivers and fjords, which is much safer, especially if you’re using basic equipment.
Players can also find Blue Ice, which is easily distinguished from snow by its light-blue color. It appears between ice blocks and often surrounds Blue Crystals, another valuable resource found in the Tundra Biome.
You’ll need 40 Blocks of Ice to make a Slow Totem, and Ice is also an ingredient in some food recipes.
