Xbox recently asked players what they’d like to see in future consoles and games, and the feedback is already clear. While many fans want more exclusive games, other popular requests are also emerging.
On May 18th, Xbox launched a new feature called Xbox Player Voice, allowing gamers to share their ideas and suggestions directly with the company. Xbox explained that they won’t be able to implement every request, but players will now be able to track whether their feedback has been seen and will receive updates if changes are made based on it.
Xbox Player Voice Quickly Reveals Fan Demands
Within a day of opening the Xbox Player Voice feedback forum, a clear trend quickly appeared: players overwhelmingly want to see Xbox exclusive games return to the console. One player, Carlos Hernandez, explained that the lack of exclusives is hurting console sales, as there’s no incentive to buy an Xbox when the same games are available on other platforms. His request has already garnered almost 10,000 upvotes and over a thousand comments.

Players are strongly requesting that Xbox prioritize making more older games playable on the Xbox Series X/S. This suggestion has received over 7,000 votes. Other popular ideas include offering free online multiplayer (currently requiring a Game Pass subscription), creating separate achievement lists for games and their downloadable content, and launching a family-friendly version of Xbox Game Pass for households with multiple consoles.
Not all player requests are equally likely to be fulfilled. Xbox is unlikely to make changes that would hurt its revenue from services like Game Pass. However, the possibility of bringing back exclusive games is being considered by Xbox, according to reliable insider Jez Corden. As Xbox re-evaluates its business strategy, offering exclusives could be a way to boost console sales. The high number of players requesting this on the Xbox Player Voice forum might encourage Xbox to move in that direction.

For a long time, games were often only available on one type of console. But over the years, it became more common for developers to release, or ‘port,’ those games to other consoles and PC to earn extra revenue. Recently, true console exclusives have become unusual, with most games eventually appearing on multiple platforms – though even that doesn’t happen often. Now, it looks like things might be changing again, as reports suggest PlayStation will stop releasing its story-driven, single-player games on PC.
