In the game Hollow Knight: Silksong, there are seven distinctive crests, each equipped with its own special ability and tool arrangement. With the exception of the Hunter Crest, gamers can unlock additional slots for their crests using Memory Locket items. The advancements for the Hunter Crest are linked to the total number of Memory Lockets that players have utilized.
After chatting with Eva following several Locket interactions, you can unlock two unique Vesticrests, allowing an extra Yellow (achieved after four lockets) and Blue (with twelve lockets) slot for all seven Hollow Knight: Silksong crests in your inventory. It’s no wonder that the most powerful crests usually become accessible near the game’s end.

From the outset of the game, you’ll have access to Hornet’s emblem, which is her standard crest. Later on, when you encounter Needolin in Bellhart, you can enhance the Hunter Crest by chatting with Eva located in the southeastern region of Weavenest Atla.

What’s the Best Crest in Silksong?

As a gamer diving into the world of Silksong, I’ve got to say that my favorite crest hands down is the Shaman’s Crest. This bad boy lets you rock three white tools or silk skills simultaneously – quite the power-up! Now, it’s true that this crest doesn’t offer any slots for red or yellow tools, but once you snag both Vesticrests, you can still equip one of those and three blue tools.
The Architect Crest is a strong contender too; being able to wield three red tools can make all the difference during some tough boss battles, and it’s usually up for grabs earlier in the game. Last but not least, the Reaper Crest is an excellent choice for early-game play – it even outshines the Hunter Crest due to its silk-generating abilities!
