Recently, it was announced that a new *Jujutsu Kaisen* movie is coming out. However, it won’t feature a lot of original material. Instead, it’s a compilation film that will largely revisit scenes from season two and the first two episodes of season three.

The latest Jujutsu Kaisen film is coming to Japanese cinemas on November 7th, 2025. Viewers in the United States will need to wait a little longer, with the movie scheduled for release on December 5th, 2025. Releasing a recap movie before a new season isn’t unusual – many other anime series have done the same thing, and Jujutsu Kaisen is following suit.
The highly anticipated third season of Jujutsu Kaisen is set to premiere in January 2026. It will be released in two parts, with the first half launching in January. A release date for the second half hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected sometime in either Summer or Fall 2026.
Many fans are understandably disappointed about the wait for season three, especially after years of anticipation. However, creating anime is a huge undertaking, and MAPPA is a studio known for prioritizing quality over speed. They’ve built a strong reputation, and won’t compromise it by rushing production.

Four new anime series are debuting alongside the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen, and they’ll all be competing for viewers’ attention. Frieren is expected to be the strongest competitor, currently holding the top spot on MyAnimeList. Despite the tough competition, this is great news for anime fans, who will have a lot of excellent shows to choose from in a single month.
