Skate 4 challenges players to master new and sometimes difficult tricks. For instance, one daily challenge asks you to land a Lipslide, but many players are finding it tricky to execute.
Okay, so lipslides in *Skate 4* are seriously cool. They’re not the hardest trick to learn, which is awesome, but you still need to put in a little effort. Once I found a good ledge and got the hang of how to do them, though, I was sliding around like a total pro! It just takes a bit of practice with the controls.
How to Do a Lipslide in Skate 4
To do a Lipslide in *Skate 4*, simply hold the right analog stick to the right while you’re in the air before landing on a grind. Keep in mind that the direction you’re facing matters! If you’re approaching the grind from the backside, hold the analog stick to the left instead.
If you misjudge your approach, you might accidentally do a boardslide or another grind instead, based on how you land.
To do this trick, simply turn your skateboard and bring the back wheels over the rail or curb you want to grind on. It’s important to get enough height so the board clears the obstacle completely – otherwise, you might do a different grind or fall.
To do a Lipslide, you need to keep the analog stick pressed firmly in the right direction. Quickly tapping it will start a different trick and ruin your attempt. Instead, hold the stick down, land the middle of your board on the rail, and then come off the grind smoothly to finish the trick.
Once you’re comfortable with the controls, this is actually a really simple trick in *Skate 4*. If you ollie high enough, landing a Lipslide shouldn’t be too difficult. If you’re having trouble, try looking for different skate spots around San Vansterdam – some locations make it easier than others.
