Naruto: Kishimoto Has Officially Confirmed Who’s Stronger Between Naruto And Sasuke

Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha are more than just the stars of Masashi Kishimoto’s famous manga and anime series; they’ve become hugely influential figures in the anime world. Their characters have inspired countless manga artists, who have often drawn on Naruto and Sasuke’s qualities when creating their own.

Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha have always been the most popular characters in the series *Naruto*. As they both became incredibly powerful, surpassing everyone else, it was often hard to determine who was the stronger of the two, given their constant rivalry and focus in the story.

Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, has consistently portrayed Naruto as the physically stronger of the two main characters. Throughout most of the series, Naruto has demonstrated greater feats of strength than Sasuke. Sasuke only briefly matched Naruto’s power after receiving the Curse Seal from Orochimaru.

At the beginning of their second fight, Sasuke was stronger than Naruto, as Naruto hadn’t made much progress with his training under Jiraiya. Sasuke stayed ahead until Naruto learned to harness the power of the Nine-Tailed Fox, unlocking a new, incredibly powerful mode. This dramatically boosted Naruto’s strength and speed, allowing him to defeat enemies with just a few blows.

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto and Sasuke both received powerful boosts from Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths. Before granting them these abilities – meant to defeat Madara Uchiha and later Kaguya Otsutsuki – Hagoromo questioned them. After the threats were eliminated, Naruto and Sasuke clashed at the Valley of the End. Sasuke aimed to kill Naruto and become Hokage, believing he alone could bear the world’s hatred. Naruto, however, simply wanted to save Sasuke from himself. He held no ill will towards his rival and desperately tried to prevent a tragic outcome.

Sasuke fell into a dark place and seemed determined to continue down that path. He fought with everything he had, using all of his skills, but couldn’t overcome Naruto. In the end, Sasuke had to admit he was beaten. Naruto was the stronger fighter throughout the battle, and importantly, he didn’t want to seriously injure Sasuke. He could have ended the fight quickly and potentially saved everyone, but he was trying to achieve both victory and Sasuke’s safety, which is why he was holding back his full power.

Naruto And Sasuke Deserve Better

Naruto And Sasuke Have Been Treated Harshly

Once Kishimoto finished the Naruto story with the final battle between Naruto and Sasuke, fans were eager to know what would happen to them next. A sequel set in the same world was eventually announced, written by Ikemoto. Though Kishimoto wasn’t initially involved, he later stepped in to oversee the project.

Fans anticipated Naruto and Sasuke would play significant roles in the Boruto series, but the way things unfolded was shocking. Both characters suffered several embarrassing defeats and lost access to their most powerful abilities. As a result, their overall strength diminished, and they were ultimately moved to the sidelines.

Many fans had hoped for a different outcome, but things haven’t improved. Currently, Sasuke and Naruto feel like characters from the past and aren’t playing significant roles in the ongoing story. While it’s understandable why the author chose to move away from these central figures, the way it was handled could have been better. Instead of diminishing them in each story arc, the author could have simply concluded their storylines earlier. The series isn’t finished yet, so there’s still a chance for the author to improve things, but it will depend on how the story unfolds from here.
