This week, before the game officially releases, the Battlefield 6 team mentioned that a first update will be available on day one to improve gameplay balance and fix any bugs.
With the release of Battlefield 6 just a day away, the details of the day one patch – version 1.0.1 – are now available.
We’re making a lot of improvements to Battlefield 6 based on what players told us during the Open Beta. The launch-day update will include over 200 changes, mostly fixing bugs and improving the overall experience.
We’ve made a few updates to improve how the game feels, including some quality-of-life improvements and adjustments to weapon balance. Are these changes huge? That’s up for debate, but even small tweaks can make a big difference. Whether they’ll be enough to stop players from going back to Call of Duty remains to be seen.
Battlefield 6’s Day One Patch Features Weapon Tuning, Improved Vehicle Handling, And Bug Fixes
We’ve made significant improvements to weapon handling. Weapons now feel much smoother and more controlled thanks to adjustments to recoil. We’ve also refined movement by reducing momentum when sliding into a jump, and increased accuracy while jumping or sliding. These changes all work together to make weapon performance more reliable and consistent.
Certain vehicles will handle better, with improvements like more responsive helicopters and faster-turning tank turrets, among other changes.
We’ve made big improvements to the game’s interface and how information is displayed. You’ll now see clearer instructions for your goals, more reliable information, and be able to move around the menus much more easily.
It’s not unexpected that the developers have spent a lot of time fixing problems. Making a strong first impression is crucial for Battlefield 6, and so far, it seems to be succeeding. Game Rant called it the most enjoyable Battlefield game in almost ten years and expressed excitement for its future. Currently, the game also has a very positive “Mighty” rating on Open Critic.
