This holiday season, fans of the *Final Fantasy* series have some exciting new options! A physical bundle containing both *Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade* and *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* will be available for PlayStation 5. Nintendo Switch owners will also be pleased to hear that a twin pack featuring *Final Fantasy 7* and *Final Fantasy 8 Remastered* is coming, alongside a standalone physical release of *Final Fantasy 9*.
All of the Final Fantasy games included in these physical re-releases are also available as digital downloads. Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth are exceptions, as they’re already sold separately as physical copies. This news comes at an interesting time, as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is launching on the Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S on January 22, 2026. These new versions of FF7 Remake Intergrade will include Streamlined Progression, a new system that gives players advantages during battles, like starting with full resources.
5 Final Fantasy Games Are Getting Physical Re-Releases
Despite a recent dip in physical game sales for the PS5, Square Enix is bringing back some of its biggest hits in physical form for collectors. Both *Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade* and *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* will be available for purchase again starting December 4, with pre-orders opening on the Square Enix Store for $59.99. Gamers on Nintendo Switch will also have something to look forward to: *Final Fantasy 7* and *Final Fantasy 8 Remastered* are being combined onto one game card, launching December 9, and *Final Fantasy 9* will get its own dedicated Switch game card on the same day.
You can now pre-order *Final Fantasy 9* individually, or a bundle of *Final Fantasy 7* and *Final Fantasy 8 Remastered*, from the Square Enix Store for $39.99 each. This marks the first time physical copies of *Final Fantasy 7*, *Final Fantasy 8 Remastered*, and *Final Fantasy 9* will be available in North America, though physical versions were previously sold in other regions. Switch players will also have access to extra content not included in the original PlayStation releases of these classic *Final Fantasy* games.

As a huge Final Fantasy fan, I’m so excited to hear that the Switch 2 will be backward compatible with games like *Final Fantasy 7*, *FF8 Remastered*, and *FF9*! It’s awesome that Square Enix is working to get their classic titles on as many systems as possible, and it’s a relief to know they’re thinking about how to keep these beloved remakes and remasters available for us to enjoy.
