One Piece: 7 Characters That Can Defeat Garling Figarland

The *One Piece* story is now in its final arc, and creator Eiichiro Oda is starting to reveal major villains – some of whom have been mentioned before, and others who are completely new. A particularly important villain introduced in this final saga is Figarland Garling, Shanks’ father. Garling used to be the Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights and is currently one of the Five Elders. While fans haven’t seen his full power yet, Oda has confirmed he’s incredibly strong. However, he’s not unbeatable, and characters like Rocks or Roger would likely be able to defeat him.

Blackbeard

A Descendant of Xebec and Jones

Blackbeard is unique in the world of *One Piece*. He currently possesses the powers of two Devil Fruits: the Gura Gura no Mi, considered the most powerful Paramecia-type, and the Yami Yami no Mi, the strongest Logia-type. Even though he hasn’t reached his full potential, very few characters are capable of defeating him.

Blackbeard’s lineage includes both Davy D. Jones and Xebec, and he’s destined to exceed their power levels. Ultimately, he’s predicted to become even more formidable than Garling.

Shanks

Garling’s Own Son

Garling had two sons, Shamrock and Shanks, with an unknown woman in God Valley. Shamrock followed in his father’s footsteps, but Shanks was rescued by Dragon and raised by the Roger Pirates. Shanks became incredibly powerful, establishing himself as one of the strongest characters in the One Piece world. He consistently demonstrates exceptional Haki, and many believe he’s now the strongest Haki user alive, potentially even surpassing his father in strength.

Imu

The Highest Authority of the World

Imu is the true ruler of the world, holding the highest power within the World Government. Fans widely believe Imu is the only character capable of easily defeating Garling. In fact, Imu was responsible for Garling’s advancement, initially making him a Holy Knight and later a member of the Gorosei. Without Imu’s hidden support, the Celestial Dragons would be powerless.

Gol D. Roger

The Late Pirate King

Gol D. Roger was the legendary Pirate King in the world of One Piece. He was a fearsome figure during his time, and even during the events at God Valley, he managed to rescue Shakky with the help of his crew.

Roger and Garling haven’t fought each other in God Valley yet, but it’s clear Roger is incredibly powerful, especially with his Haki. If Roger had easily overcome Rocks D. Xebec, he almost certainly would have defeated Garling as well.

Rocks D. Xebec

The Only Known Man To Have Defeated Garling

Davy D. Xebec (formerly known as Rocks D. Xebec) is a major legendary figure in the world of One Piece. He captained a famously powerful and unpredictable crew that sailed the Grand Line, and has demonstrated greater strength than Garling.

Episode 1162 of One Piece revealed that Xebec defeated Garling at God Valley. Currently, he’s the only character confirmed to be stronger than Garling.

Monkey D. Garp

The Hero of the Marines

Even though he’s not at his peak anymore, Garp remains incredibly strong. He earned the title ‘Hero of the Marines,’ and stories of his power are famous worldwide. Unlike many powerful fighters, Garp doesn’t rely on a Devil Fruit – he’s renowned for his mastery of Haki. He was a rival to Gol D. Roger, and it’s clear he could easily defeat opponents like Garling, considering Roger and Rocks’ capabilities.

Whitebeard

The World’s Strongest Man

I’ve always been amazed by Whitebeard, widely considered the World’s Strongest Man, and it’s easy to see why. Even when he was younger, with the Rocks Pirates, he was unbelievably strong – not even at his peak! He just kept getting more powerful, becoming a truly terrifying figure. He wasn’t just skilled with Haki, but he also possessed the Gura Gura no Mi, which is said to be the most potent Paramecia-type Devil Fruit ever. Honestly, I think he would have easily defeated Garling.
