Like other action games, Ninja Gaiden 4 offers helpful tools for fighting and exploring. A key feature in the game is the accessory system, which lets you equip charms to boost your abilities, but each charm takes up a limited number of slots. When you start Ninja Gaiden 4 as the new character Yakumo, you only have one slot available, and the game doesn’t clearly explain how to get more. This guide will show you how and when to increase your accessory slots in Ninja Gaiden 4.
How to Increase Accessory Slots in Ninja Gaiden 4
Progress to Chapter 4 – Pilgrim’s Windswept Path:
When starting Ninja Gaiden 4, many players assume they can only use one accessory at a time. This is understandable, as the game doesn’t clearly explain how the accessory system works, especially before it becomes more complex later on.

Sharp-eyed players might have noticed that early accessories have descriptions mentioning ‘slot requirements.’ This means you’ll eventually unlock extra slots and need to carefully choose which accessories to use based on the battle. This feature will become available in Chapter 4: Pilgrim’s Windswept Path.
How to Unlock More Accessory Slots in Ninja Gaiden 4:
Most action-adventure games let you unlock more weapon or tool slots by finding items or completing side quests. But Ninja Gaiden 4 takes a different approach – you simply buy them with in-game currency, just like almost everything else in the game.

Soon after starting NG4, you’ll meet Tyran. Each time you find a DarkNest Terminal – which acts as the game’s save points and shop – you’ll also see Tyran’s Raven. This lets you summon Tyran to your location. Tyran is a merchant who primarily sells Combat Skills. Until Chapter 4, he only offers combat skills, which is why many players don’t realize he can also unlock passive abilities like extra accessory slots.

Starting in Chapter 4, Tyran will learn new abilities. When you visit him during the Pilgrim’s Windswept Path, check his Combat Skills. You’ll now find a new skill available: Act of Adornment Lv. 1.

You can purchase Act of Adorment Level 1 for 8,000 NinjaCoin, and it will give you one extra slot for accessories. This is just the first level, so we plan to add more as they become available. For now, this seems to be the main way to add new accessory slots in Ninja Gaiden 4.
This guide for Ninja Gaiden 4 is still being updated as we continue to play. We’ve currently found one way to unlock more Accessory Slots, but there might be others. We’ll add information about the cost of higher Adornment levels and any additional slot-unlocking methods as we discover them.
